A Karma (reputation) system has now been tacked on to the board. The system is described here.

Make sure to post here if there is anything wrong with it.

Note that due to core differences in the template style, the standard IPB template is no longer available for use.

Hmm.. System sounds good. Question: Does the multiplier relate to the rate of credit/exp you gain?

No, at least not yet. I'm still considering whether to integrate it further with the credit and EXP system.

Yeah, basically. I'll have to test run it for a bit before I can integrate anything with the main site.

Those are the means by which I managed to integrate it with the board without touching any of its code. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Kl1 = your board ID (due to stupid code limitation)
Kl2 = your karma level
Kl3 = your board ID again (see above)
Kn = negative karma
Ki1 = current power
Ki2 = max power
Kp = positive karma

Best I can figure out is the first three are part of the equation, which includes some kind of process involving your Member number and some other random thing. I don't know what the 'l' could stand for in 'Kl'. The last four are pretty self explanatory. Karma negative, karma integer 1 (your current karma points), karma integer 2 (your maximum karma points) and karma positive.

ah

so shouldn't it raise someones karma by 1 instead of half of whatever u have? (i have 10, i went to raise cowpies, and it went up 5 instead of 1)

It'll imbue as much karma as you have power.

Oh, and the "l" was for level. But then I had to split that part in three to get the member id in there. The i was originally for Influence, but that was too long so I changed it to Power.

And yeah, if you posted at the exact same time it could probably come out either way on the view new post things.

Yeah, you can't see who has been messing with your karma, nor will you ever be able to. Of course, it's up to you if you want to tell them.

I guess I can finally, or hopefully, contribute by finding a problem. So today, you created the Eva account, gave yourself 5000 posts, and so you had 6 power. After taking away the posts, you still have 6 power, as seen with the fraction 6/1 under your profile. Not sure how often this would come up in real life though, since when would you start deleting posts at such a scale?
