QUOTE - Don't use misleading names. "Bob the Dragon" better be a god damn Dragon. QUOTE Daimon 1166 Lucifer Lucifer is not a demon, especially not the Devil. The bible does not ever refer to Lucifer as a demon or the Devil. (The likely basis being [ www.biblegateway.com] Isaiah 14:3-14:20 which clearly references a king of Babylon) Since this site is filled with Biblical scholars (hello complaining about my Jesus enemies), naming a demon Lucifer is clearly an attempt to mislead people.

That was Satan's name before being ejected from heaven, so, technically, Lucifer should be an Angelic type.
Get up on the Morning Star, niggies.

Which part of Lucifer is not Satan do you not get? The fact that there is no theological basis for it or the fact that there is seriously no theological basis for it?

The part where you're required to give a shit about that kind of stuff fervently enough to get upset about it.

Who says I'm upset? My complaint is mainly tongue in cheek.

I'm only basing it off what I've read, which is different from what you've read, clearly. This doesn't remove the fact that it's not a daemonic name, rather an angelic one, and should have been named as thus, regardless of if it refers to (Numerological Equivalent to Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus) or not.

You shouldn't believe everything you read (or don't read) in the Bible. In popular culture, Lucifer is identified with the Devil, and popular culture surely trumps some dusty old religious scripture when it comes to a game on a cartoon porn site. Besides which, it could also be argued that the only real difference between angels and demons is which side they're on...

The Bible is the most printed book of all time which makes it the epitome of popular culture. So, yeah, try again.

Alright my post here is about my monster I just created. Before you go and start reporting my monster, Kaiser Krab, as being a retarded monster, hear me out. It is a legitimate enemy from an old Genesis dungeon crawler called Shining in the Darkness. It is at first a boss early in the game but it becomes a recurring enemy at intersections with a left turn. Also, Shining in the Darkness is a part of the "Shining" series of games. Here is an example image of it: This post has been edited by Supermario223: Mar 29 2011, 16:11

Spawned Monster B: MID=1649 (Monster Tentacle)
We already has Tentacle Monster. What's the point of this one?

25 pages and still going.
This is an endurance.
It has become quite obvious that a means to vet monster names at source is clearly needed.
I'm not one for stifling creativeness but at this point I feel a better solution would be to have predetermined names until a better system can be put into place.
Arguably the original monster names were pop culture references and while Fire Fox is probably a Fox...Somehow related to the element of fire, what's Manbearpig? or Konata? or Tentacle Monster?
If the system automatically added the monster type to the end, we might, just might get better names generated.
Bob 'The Dragon', works as a dragons name, Lucifer 'the Dragon', is at a glance out of place and may cause the creator to rethink the name. Even if they do not, it opens more naming options up for other users. Although "Your Mom the Dragon","Your Mom the Human(oid)" & "Your Mom the Giant" would become really old really, really fast.
While I've noticed named monsters have been 'deleted' (or probably just renamed) hard work is for people short on talent, and sifting through all these names must be hard work.

As long as you don't shit on my Woodland Critter (Beast) and Judas (Daimon) I've no problems.
If you use Manbearpig you've also to "bear" Woodland Critter, If you allow all kind of Jesuses, like Jesus, Robot Jesus and Raptor Jesus, a Judas won't be out of place.

First off I have no problem with Woodland Critter, but you can't use monsters Tenboro made as justification for anything. When you are the boss, you don't have to follow your own rules.
