Actually, if the worm is a centipede (and in video game land, the species are often interchangable), then this is most definitely an arthropod. Besides that, arthropods have fire resistance, which makes sense for this one.

The Undead class does not extend to the incorporeal. Besides, GoCP is rather angelic in every depiction of her I've seen.

No, espers/eidolons/aeons/whatever you call them are Celestials first and foremost.

I think the colossus part should preclude the elemental part.

The problem is, creative monsters are often pigeonholed into subclasses that are too narrow to represent them.

Perhaps each monster should be registered under two creature types (different or same), and its stats some combination of the two. For instance:

I'd have to agree that Baal should be a demon, not a mechanoid. I think that in cases like this, the monster should be classified what most sources suggest it should be.

Upon further review I concede/agree on the above points. I have edited my initial list to reflect this and also to be more lenient to mobs that are closer to being classified correctly than others.

I'm not saying that people have necessarily put a lot of thought into it, but some of them may have made their choice based on what class matches most closely to the attributes of the character. As far as multiple categories goes, remember that we'll be able to customise monsters at some point, so you should be able to mix things up to a certain extent.

On the topic of classifications, I prefer forcing consistent classifications cause it's a reward for knowing trivia. You encounter Eucliwood Hellscythe, you take a guess that she's undead (because she's necromancer), fire off a fire spell and get a big hit. Likewise, if you encounter Igneel you can pretty much know he's a dragon if you know Fairy Tail and start off with wind aoe into lightning instead of lightning into fire.

And then you have strange things:

Here are the reasons for my creation of my two newest monsters:

"Ethos" - Celestial - Kind of a play on the word Aether, which to me, sounds more like Ethereal than anything else, and that makes me think of Celestial.
"Plasma Tower" - Mechanoid - A mechanical defensive tower than shoots bolts of Plasma at enemies (I'm referring to plasma as the energy weapon kind of plasma). Plasma towers can be found mounted on tanks, spaceships, airships, and surrounding space colonies, and major cities. This is kind of a futuristic mechanoid (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)
