Personally, I'm fine with most of the stuff in there, aside from the obvious troll ones.

The ones that get to me mostly are the typos. I mean, how hard can it be to actually double-check what you're typing in there before hitting Create Monster?

what i did not see yet were invader zim characters. eventhough i could imagine some of them rather fitting the "anoying little thingie that just pops up and keeps anoying you". i.e. gir (maybe with the special attack "doom song"? O.o)

oh, well... as i said before, i really would prefer it if the monsters listing would stay clean of bad wordings so it would keep its "playable in public" characteristic (with the script that renames tab-title and removes image, of course).

personally, i am not offended by the names and such (cos one or two lightning mostly kill all the crap monsters)..

but when the monster lab is complete.. at least hv the effort/tendency to upgrade the monster you create to be stronger and not leave it as it is... so don't go creating 15-20 monsters but only upgrade 1-2 of it... personally i hv created two monster and cant wait to upgrade the monsters...

It's up to one person if they want go for quantity or quality. You can't have both unless you are filthy rich.

I hope those guys who make some monster like Pedobear grade them up to at least Boss-class or Legendary-class.

On the subject of misspellings and such: Tifa (should be Tifa Lockheart, grrrr... and I am sure we will soon see that name variant, too).

Obscure references are fine, that's why it's cool to have a discussion about them.

What's not is nicknames, names that are too ambigous to make sense, renames needed (for full names), or generic names that have nothing to do with the games.

That's another problem, it is likely that some cooler names will remain "weak"... although I am not sure how to fix that.

There really isn't much purpose in creating a monster of any kind right now until we know how many Commander Killjoy's are going to be running around. Oh we have to protect the sanctity of our titty toon clicky game by policing everything and I'll just be so mad if someone creates a monster called Gas Pedal. It's just not right!

Yes, this is a hentai and anime based website, but just look at these forums. We have forums for discussing music, technology and even real world debates. For most, the thing that brings them here is the cartoon nudity, but the things that keep them a part of this community might be the interests in other things. Why we should exclude that from HV is beyond me. HV has no story, no setup, nothing. So what we're fighting really shouldn't matter so much as to create this need to eliminate what we don't feel fits.

I'm sure you do, but why should your own personal vision of what you want HV to be affect the enjoyment by others? What if others would prefer that the story ends up being that the real world collides with the toon world. A world where running into Haruhi is just as likely as it is George W Bush?

This site thrives on it's robust community, both the lurker and the level 300 Rape Mage. So it should thrive on robust ideas too, not some narrow minded view of your own Hentaiverse perfection.

It's not my vision that I'm asking to "hold sway", but this concept that a certain few people dictate how HV should be played and enjoyed is ridiculous. Tenboro gave every person the ability to create monsters. He didn't put it in the level 200 ability tree and didn't make it a requirement to have a star. He made it where someone who just joined today could create a monster if they lucked out and got a Chaos Token. That means this is for EVERYBODY, not just the ones who treat this GAME like a way of life.

And yes, I'm fine with Tom, Sean, Vic etc. What does it really matter? Are you getting so absorbed in the fantasy world created by HV that you are just so appalled by something that's not animated? This game is essentially hold a number until the monster assigned to that number dies and move on. If the sight of of Osama Bin Laden just ruins the fantasy, you need to take a step back from the fucking computer sometimes.

Time to accept that pretty much all names are allowed, except for the obvious trolls and offensive ones.

MONSTER CREATION GUIDELINES

- Do not create monsters based on other people on the forum without their permission.

- You can create *one* monster based on yourself, but don't overdo it. No one cares to fight Mr. X's Left Testicle, or Mr. X's Other Kitten.

- Otherwise, your monster should preferably be based on mythology or characters/races/etc in anime, manga, movies, books, etc etc - something that people will recognize.
-- MAKE SURE YOU SPELL THE NAME CORRECTLY. Google it to make sure. At some point you will be able to rename monsters, but this is some ways off.
-- And for the love of Shiva, if "your" name is taken, don't put stupid padding around it to get it past the duplicate name checker.

- "Original" creations are allowed, but keep the stupid out of it. Having forty different kinds of penis monsters is just silly. Don't be a retard.
-- Avoid profanity and explicit offensive terms.

Failure to stick to these guidelines can cause your monster to be de-listed. That means it will no longer spawn in battles, which will essentially waste one of your slots permanently.
