I thought that Monday's presentation was Microsoft blowing smoke to create FUD in the tablet marketplace. Microsoft is so good at that that I was loving it for about 10 minutes. Then I remembered that I downloaded the Windows 8 preview already....

Before the iPad was released, almost all tablets came with a stylus. That's because Windows XP Tablet PC edition evolved from Windows for Pen Computing. The problem was that Windows Tablets cost 50% MORE than Windows Notebooks.

Apple figured out how to sell the iPad for 50% LESS than a MacBook. Now, vendors are trying to sell Android and Windows tablets for the same price as the iPad. The problem is that is still MORE than a Windows Notebook.

That's probably because most touchscreens used to be resistive, but Apple went with capacitive ones, which have their advantages, but makes the use of styluses tricky.

Just put my P.C. together and turned it on. No video input and it won't switch off via the power button. Ah well, it was a fun thought. Expensive, but fun.
