Yea I'm not a secret bajillionaire. I could only afford 10TB worth of NVMe in my system at the moment and that just barely used less than half after 2 years.

Same 10TB here (+1TB in the drawer, to use as new NAS OS drive). Half of it is cached research data, the rest for the usual stuff like OS, games, etc. Near 200TB of HDDs for backup, anime, movies, music, anything that doesn't go into SSD. You burn through storage fast when you have 1000 anime to store, a few thousand music albums, a buttload of hentai. I would say your 5TB after 2 years is somewhat heavier usage compared to the average gamer, unless you store media on nvme as well.

Mostly raw game recordings and saved videos yeap. It's taking up 2TB, the rest are images or games I don't use/play.

I finally uninstalled Truecaller. The app automatically clicks on the displayed ads causing the associated apps to launch abruptly. (E.g. Shopee-related ads -> Shopee app launches)

Got an early 1990's Dell PC, it doesn't like my IDE hard drives so I gave up after fighting for a while and am using a SCSI controller ISA card instead to boot from a SCSI hard disk. it both has a higher maximum drive size and more flexibility (I don't have to set up cylinder/head/sector counts either) and I can install a CD-ROM drive on the same SCSI bus.

I need to replace the 5.25 inch floppy drive though, the one i have is both mechanically faulty and is missing the lever. I already swapped in a better 3.5 inch one for the 3.5 inch drive it originally came with (it has one of each from the factory).

Bought a new PSU for my 5070Ti last Wed and it's already fucked. Guess I'm going back to trusty Seasonic. Should have just puked out 40 more bucks to save me the trouble.

Replaced a tiny surface mount fuse in my 20 year old thinkpad and now the pen digitizer works again.

Also recapped an AT PSU for my 486. I think I'll play Star Control 2 now.
The PSU didn't necessarily need it but it is from 2006 (yes; 2006) and the caps are all very generic chinese looking, so I figured they could be capacitor plague victims.

I need to consult the power supply austistic reviewers every-time these days because so many brands use multiple suppliers so even a product that was great before could be terrible now.

For a while it was just if it has the gold or plat badge then it is great. Now its becoming more of a poop show. Now we need people to do also sorts of crazy in depth analysis because it may have been a good design that they swapped out components or changed part of the design.

Its too much for regular person to keep track of.

Yeah 2006 era is the danger zone. Had many caps fail from that era. Have only had the problem once since. High end device using modern 'high end' Chinese caps. I think they built that one to a price, and pushed it too close to the sun.

I got an NZXT because apparently they only rebrand the mid-high tier Seasonic stuff and resell at a cheaper price but mine broke 8 days in. Maybe I got a bad unit but it's enough for me to stay away from anything not literally Seasonic forever now.

You can also practice by transcribing from videos / audio. On youtube you can put on a podcast or something and adjust the speed then type out what they are saying.

it will get your speed up fairly fast.


I just did a typing test and hit 80 wpm with 98% accuracy... I was expecting it to be lower.

The highest I ever hit was 110 wpm in high school when we had to do the typing test. Though, they kind of lied that we would need it for workplace. it is quite useful though, I can transcribe in real time but its kind of loud for meetings, also AI can do that now.

i enjoy using my MacBook Pro for watching anime.....
