I think people are just paranoid, though to be fair, in many causes it is warranted. Its quite disheartening that they best they can do is guarantee the CPU will operate within spec for only 4-5 years at best.

portable HDDs die easily because, well, they are portable. that said, I have been using one like an internal HDD with around 21k hours of uptime but no issue yet. I never move it around though.

SSDs mounted to an external drive should be fine. I've never had one of those fail.


I had about 10 portable traditional drives fail

ssds do exceed in throwability, main reason I put them in thinkpad early on

I get non working experiences on librewolf too on some sites I think it disables more while palemoon is more just severely outdated at this point.

That could be user agent fuckery; I set general.useragent.override to my preferred string in about:config in mozilla-esque browsers which often helps

cant fully be, always set to some reasonable firefox version and windows (think ublock does this or some about:config flag) and it doesnt help

I heard of some people in Japan modding some guns to be airsoft whilst using some authentic components. Though the loophole was probably closed.

god I hate smartphones and the culture around them. as long as the thing can receive calls and decode mkvs decently so I can watch anime during commute, it's good. still using the wack ass chinese phone I bought for cheap when I was a student.

The phone company has been bitching at me for years to change phones, ''muh 4G/5G", ''Muh secure Sim cards", "muh smart network!" but I told them I don't give a shit. Worse comes to worse I'll just get a new dumb phone that has 4g. They can keep their big brother bitch chips, I aint paying money for the privilege of being cattle.
