edit: The new Windows 11 AI update includes an advanced AI copilot that uses everything you have ever done on the device which I assume is so that your browser history can be weighed against a feather to determine whether your soul can proceed to the good afterlife or not.


Microsoft update is also breaking software that is used to mod Win11 to remove all the telemetry and AI data collection due to 'security concerns'


They want to charge $400 USD to keep getting updates for windows 10 for three years.

Win11 almost seemed reasonable if there were easy to access packages that could turn off the spyware...

The fact that Microsoft broke them on purpose confirms my windows 10 experience where Microsoft would accidentally break things with windows update if you used the EU mandated options to turn telemetry off completely.


Apple devices are similar where they collect and report a lot of data on your cloud usage and files in storage.
There were multiple cases during lockdowns in the US where people had to take photos to send to doctors for remote GP visits for their kids that then were reported to the feds by Apple.


A lot of users got pwned by Discord because some people 'pranked' thousands of users by creating an image whose hash matched a illegal image and then told people that their account would get locked if they posted it or to post it as a dare... not realising that doing so would get them automatically reported to the feds.

I believe this is at windows 10 eol, windows 11 forced rollout. which was iirc somewhere next year october. it doesnt effect me much besides having to look up how to turn off all the nonsense they add in windows 11 with azure/entra on the work laptops. most things break if you turn off the store and widgets without allowing people to install anything. haven't seen much junk appear lately

another horror of modern day technology, if some combination of pixels gets connected to such an incident any frame of it will be instant silent ban on many platforms. I remember there was one going around that was just a screenshot of a call without anything showing.

It's not 100% foolproof either, but I always do two checks when hashing images so i also check that the file sizes and types match. Doesn't take much more time or computational power and it rules out more false positives.

It's certainly possible to have an exactly-the-same-size file in exactly the same format with different contents with exactly the same hash, but it's a lot harder.

Japanese six button; MR was right, it is smaller, I never noticed before. Unfortunately the one I have only works in three button mode.

Euro Modern six button 2.4ghz wireless: Works fantastic. Probably my favorite controller atm.

Euro older style 3 button: It feels okay but is weird only having three buttons and start.

Apparently there is modern Japanese six button but its going for way too much, seems to be quite popular.

There is also a new six button American controller in the shape of the three button that is popular.

I use a JP 6 button pad myself, they sold them briefly in america as "Sega Club" controllers for little kids with small hands. Model MK-1937.

The laseractive also used JP 6 button pads.

If yours only works in 3 button mode maybe the MODE switch is stuck on? None of the games I play actually use the X Y and Z buttons.

Replaced the stock round pads with the oval ones I was using for M40x. That shit took me an entire hour to fit, holy god. But my ears finally fit inside now. Removing the headband also works but my scalp takes the beating instead if I do so.

Half a year and my pads are already starting to flake. I'm dreading the day I need to spend another hour to fit a new pair of oval pads on and it's probably sometime next week or next month.
