Just uninstalled aurora and deleted all personal settings, all firefox settings got deleted too. It took me 3 hours to get my old 93 open tabs and 30 bookmarks back, I would have killed someone if they were gone forever...
Learn from my faults.

I need a way to stream .mkvs onto my 360.
Well, a way that doesn't totally blow goats, in any case.

Got the same problem with a ps3. Did not find any solution to stream them properly, so I got myself a GTX 670 and a 10m HDMI cable....it's way more comfortable if you (can) connect you pc to your tv directly.

I don't have an HDMI compatible video card, nor the money to buy one.
Which is just as well, I suppose, since this one's going in the bedroom and I made a custom S-Video to Composite cable last week since that's all the bedroom TV can handle at the moment.

Looks like that grinding sound was from one of my HDDs and not a fan. And I know exactly which one it is now, too. Fortunately, its one of my old IDE drives that is next on my list to replace and its relatively small.

You might want to take a look at Everything ([ www.voidtools.com] http://www.voidtools.com/). If all you care about is searching by file names, this absolutely smokes the built-in Windows search tool. My tech thought of the moment: SFF-8088 to SFF-8087 cables are still out of stock, darn it.

Please laptop manufacturers... Don't put two HDD in a single laptop anymore. 99% of the average consumers complained the lost of their second partition after executing a recovery or reformatting their computer. 99% of the average consumers never knew it can be remedied through the Computer Management console in the Control Panel. And 99% of the average consumers are so stupid they do not understand that 2X means there are two HDD in the computer.

QUOTE(derpymal @ May 28 2012, 12:59) Waiting for Windows to rebuild my search index is a pain in the butt. The services and processes themselves are a pain in the butt. I always blame it on my AVS when I boot, then I realize it's the OS acting up. And then the AVS notices the unusually high resource usage and challenges it to a deathmatch to make things worse. I should disable some services.

I've been reading [ en.wikipedia.org] this and laughing about how much it sucks. Then I got to thinking, man, how shitty is our technology going to look in 25 years?

Conversely, how ludicrous will technology be in 25 years?

Weird. In WPA2, the network security key = password. But in WEP, the network security key is made up of long line of random-looking numbers and differ from the wireless connection's password.

Wireless itself is weird. Five bars and you have the most instable shit ever, one bar and it goes batshit crazy. Two or three bars and it tends to be rather stable. Maybe that's just the Windows signal system itself.
Sometimes I just want to punch my router, but it'll probably retaliate by killing my connection for an extended period of time instead of killing the signal every 15 minutes or so and going comatose once in a while. Well, at least that'd give me a reason to move to a slightly better ISP and buy an Ethernet one.
Still running on 802.11b with epic security and my NIC cries when it looks at the ones it can sense.

I hate how my touchpad has been exhibiting erratic movement behavior (to the bottom left, where it has a fit of doing this for 5-10 seconds) within the last some-odd months. This is almost like how my XBox 360 wired-controller's left analogue-stick gets its crap stuck going to the bottom-left direction. Probably a pressure pad problem in both cases.

I wish the prices on HDDs could go down so that I can buy myself some more space for anime...
