GIMP is close enough to cite one example.

On a sidenote, I wouldn't support Adobe after [www.usatoday.com] hearing some of their earlier plans. I thought the rotten apple was alone on this. Macromedia must be crying tears of blood.

Well, if you look into companies, all of them do this eventually. Some more, some less, but yeah.

Correct, but think of all the applications that use Flash and Shockwave and won't run on those shitty devices just because the market owners want them to become dead standards and manufacturers to make their own shit.

It will take a while until they adapt. Not that I give a fuck myself now that I'm not really using these anymore, but that's pretty awful if you think of the people who do.

Where are GIMP's content aware tools? They must be hidden or something.

Optimizing your code is highly pleasurable as long as it doesn't eat up a whole hour to remove 50 commands and gain 1% execution time.

I remember that university teacher who enjoyed putting all of his code on a single line and called it "optimal use". We challenged him to rewrite a 500-line project in a single line, which was obviously possible because it was full of redundancy. He got trolled by the compiler and it took him quite a while to find out where the mistakes were.

Hilarity ensued.

Resynthesizer. Yes, you can add plugins and filters too.

I consider improved readability and easier extensibility part of optimization.

And you don't write your code on a single line. You write it with a lot of white space like a normal person, THEN you compress it to a single line.

My programming Lebensraum is always huge and full of comments because my memory is full of holes so readability isn't an issue but your argument about optimization is valid.

As for the second sentence, that's exactly why said teacher did it wrong. He attempted to compress everything on-the-fly and failed hard.

I wonder if there is something like "Firefox extension programming for dummies".

I could really use that to code my own shit because saving and organizing stuff from pixiv takes too much time and the currently available extensions are crappy and not open-source. Saving pictures is kind of pointless in the first place but artists will often delete them or even their whole account on a whim.

And yes, I need it for Firefox because my bookmark list pretty much looks like Voile, Index's brain or the Golden Fairy Tower right now. Over 3000 tags.

You could drag your bookmarks on a desktop folder and drag them in the Firefox tabs when you want to open them.

It's okay, thanks for your concern. I already have one and it obviously won't work for individual pixiv pictures. Does help a lot with 'manga' though, as long as I don't care about getting the original size version of the pictures.

Bookmarks aren't an issue. I just mentioned that in case someone would come up with another browser and Firefox bookmark tags most likely aren't compatible with other browsers.

The issue right now is that rating, bookmarking and saving a picture in the right user subfolder (my pixiv folder pretty much looks like the original pixiv server) has to be done manually and takes 30 seconds on average while it could be done much faster via a decently written script/extension. And because I probably won't be satisfied with somebody else's work, it'd be better if I could make my own.

If this is what your looking for a more advanced http-scraper would very likely accommodate your needs (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Used one some years back to save a picture database with crosslinks between picture artist and content series.

HTTP scrapers won't work with pixiv because of the way it gives access to pictures. It was most likely made that way to prevent scrapbot abuse and shit blowing up.

GTX 670, so tempting, but oh so expensive and I still would have no need for it. (Except some random gaming, but GTX 285 is more than enough for everything I play)

Also I love "many generation upgrades" like, have a comp for 10 years everything feels so slow, buy new comp with all newest parts everything feels so fast and crazy and just booting up the comp makes you cum.
