QUOTE(Zoro the Gallade @ Apr 25 2012, 12:32) You mean that Daiyo guy or whathisnamewas? He kept PMing me asking for a solution. After he told me changing browsers and deleting cookies didn't work, I kept telling him to PM Tenboro, but he just made an alt account and kept PMing me instead.Sheesh.
Looks like he's awfully irritating than Mika Kurogane. QUOTE(Mika Kurogane @ Apr 25 2012, 14:10) I'd suggest using a fridge kept open as a cheap alternative, but you might just end up catching a cold instead.
Nah... I. AM. Wait for it... INVINCIBLE!!! To common cold. (This is a lie) QUOTE(Gakre @ Apr 25 2012, 13:00) I suspect spraying cold water into your computer won't help you much to prevent your computer from getting fried.
I might as well consider getting this air fan cooler then. Still cheaper than an air conditioner.Wait, maybe I shouldn't. This uses moisture for cooling too. Or you end up burning your fridge's compressor out. And those aren't cheap.

But in the end, is knowing how to use Microsoft Office any good for finding a job?

It's one of the requirements, but it's also not a guarantee.

It won't increase your odds at finding a job that requires it because everyone knows how to use it now. Once upon a time, there were special courses for that. At least where I live.

Most people below 25 should have learned how to write basic documents in Word at least from school. If you know how to use different text styles (normal, header 1, header 2 etc.), using the header/footer, insert a front page/table of contest and know how to insert an image, you should be qualified for most common lines of office related work. A little knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint can be useful as well. I guess there may be some countries who doesn't have a big computer related culture yet, neither private nor professionally. My home country still got classes running to learn MS Word and Excel, but it is a pain if they require you to go trough a specific private course to see if you got the qualification.

Heh, yeah I guess.Mostly because before my last job, almost half of the 900-hour course that came with it were dedicated to Excel, Word, Powerpoint and the such. All stuff that I've been knowing since I was 13.
Turns out that at my workplace they used a totally different program package, so I had to learn on the go what they could have taught me months earlier.

Huh, subscore for Graphics & gaming Graphics just increased from 6.5 to 7.3 in The Windows Experience Index after I installed the latest AMD drivers (v12.4). (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

QUOTE(Zoro the Gallade @ Apr 26 2012, 19:20) Turns out that at my workplace they used a totally different program package, so I had to learn on the go what they could have taught me months earlier. I had two friends in the same situation. Since university courses basically teach obsolete programming languages here (Pascal, COBOL, Fortran and C), they had to restart from square one and learn Java and C# during their work hours for the first few months. Fun fact is they got paid for it while the actual productivity was zero. Question : Why even bother with diplomas ? This post has been edited by Mika Kurogane: Apr 26 2012, 13:48

I love using Torrent.Mostly because of its meaning.Everyone that has the file you need is constantly giving you slices of it, and in exchange you're sharing everything you have with everyone else.
Kinda like how everyone giving you Karma gives you that last point of Spirit Shield you needed to survive that one-hit kill attack.

From the Catalyst Control Center, I can see my Radeon GPU's clock is erratic in 2D desktop mode. Every few seconds or so, it keeps changing to 3D clock speed before returning to idle speed again. Possibly a driver bug?

QUOTE(derpymal @ Apr 27 2012, 14:03) I even got an intro at IBM since one of my old professors was a big shot there (he knew the guy who invented Ctrl+Alt+Del and has a boardroom named in his honor). Bring back the rig key lock. That shit was awesome until they noticed idiots managed to break the key and were fucked real good. According to my motherboard BIOS update changelog, one of the new features is "Enable audio output with DVI Port". I didn't know DVI could do output audio.
