I still know one person with a 9800 GTX. Still working somehow.

They mainly only use web and productivity software.

I have an 8800 gts 512 here somewhere. I used it for TV-out for a while. Worked last time I ran it, did just barely well enough to emulate smash bros. melee on it. I _believe_ I used nouveau. Although it's been long enough that I cannot really remember.

I think I read it had a 135 watt TDP. I believe it.

Thats impressive, I couldn't even emulate the original smash brothers on a 9800 gtx last time I tried.

Hm, interesting.
It could only do that at original resolution, though, btw (640x480) and with speed hacks and such.

I've emulated n64 smash on potato laptops before.

It was a long time ago, using glide wrappers. N64 is still a bit janky. I think most emulators have put all their effort into Mario 64, Smash brothers and Mario Kart 64.

This is true, but there are a lot of reasons N64 emulation is still sort of trash.

The plugin system is one reason; no one is throwing everything out and starting from scratch, just re-using others' plugins for most functionality and polishing up bits and pieces. The plugin system also makes emulators less flexible since it limits the amount of inter-task communication and makes things like implementing framebuffer readback for pokemon snap a challenge. Lots of other stuff with the plugin system, but I won't claim to be an expert.

Additionally there's pretty strong evidence that all the early N64 stuff was based on a leak of verilog files and documentation from within SGI ('oman.rar,' md5 bf088b2d4ebfaf77b71b7b0f2ca0625b, crc32 7da09ae9, sha-1 2226a6052f343ad9213f405d9e9c3059b2a5fa59 ).

Thus, the entire codebase of a lot of stuff is likely tainted, and it made even actual reverse engineering of the system more dangerous legally speaking, since N could claim that you'd used the leak even if you hadn't and threaten you with it.

Also it's the N64, lol. I do like Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2, but it's a low priority system for me.
But 6th gen consoles with plugin systems are generally kind of junk. If anyone here is going to try to contradict me by piping up and claiming that ePSX(e) is actually good, then I'm going to pour cement down that pipe.
Mednafen has an actually good PSX emulator, which also doesn't rely on plugins.

For kemono, I don't have any excellent solution. For rule34 I sort of do. These are homespun solutions I've been using for years.
For these to work as well as they can, use firefox or seamonkey and set 'browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground' to true in about:config.
Kemono
I don't have a good solution for this one yet, but here's what I basically end up doing:
1) set browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground = true in about:config. I don't think this works the way i want it to in modern firefox but it's still okay. Warning: this will also make new tabs open in background when sites load one. Be careful.

2) install an image tab saver addon, I use "[ca-archive.us.to] Bazzacuda Image Saver Plus" in old Firefox/Seamonkey, but I think in modern (post-57) firefox you might want [addons.mozilla.org] Tab Image Saver instead.

Note the following caveat with the newer addon, however:
QUOTE
Images can only be saved within the default downloads directory - this is a restriction of the Firefox WebExtensions API.
…So once again Mozilla has screwed us over. Your options are:
  1. Download them to your default directory and then sort by modification date to select all the stuff you just downloaded and move it
  2. change the default download directory every time you want to save a bunch of stuff. that's "browser.download.dir" in about:config.
  3. Use an older version of Firefox, or seamonkey or Pale Moon or something else that can use the superior old style addons.
3) configure your image saver addon to your liking. I don't like the defaults.

4) For each page with images on kemono, middle click once on each image and they will open in new tabs.

5) When done opening all pages, go to the tab to the left of your leftmost image to save and invoke the addon to save all tabs to the right hand side.

rule34.xxx
I have a decent solution for this one.
1) Install a user script manager, if you haven't got one. I use [addons.mozilla.org] Greasemonkey because it's free/open source.2)Install a couple user scripts I wrote (you will need both, because the way I wrote them one of them depends on the presence of the other).
Both these scripts are also [gitlab.com] in a gitlab repository I set up, if you'd rather get them there.
[pastebin.com] The first script, which gives hotkeys for going to next/previous pages on lots of sites and also makes 'o' open an image in the current tab, 'i' open image in a neighboring tab (opening in new tab requires more about:config tweaks to dodge the popup blocker). The important thing is that it contains the functions the second script will call.
The second script has a lot of fluff in it so I stripped it down to essentials. If you want the original it's on the same gitlab repository as the first script was. It just waits three seconds after a page loads, and if the tab isn't focused after three seconds (i.e. it's in the background) it opens the image source.
CODE
// ==UserScript==
// @name        Automatically open original images in background tabs
// @namespace   dragontamer8740.xTabAutoOrig
// @description Load original images if tabs are backgrounded after 3 seconds. Hooks off of the hotkey script, so it is required too.
// @version     1

// @include     https://rule34.xxx/index.php*

// @include     https://rule34.us/index.php?r=posts/view*
// @include     http://rule*.paheal.net/post/view/*
// @include     https://rule*.paheal.net/post/view/*
// @grant       unsafeWindow
// ==/UserScript==
// unsafeWindow allows us to call scripts exported by hotkey script.
// we only allow things other than the basic ehg/s/ stuff so that we can turn off the script from the menu while anywhere on the site
function doFocusCheckOpen() {
  if(!document.hasFocus())
  {
    unsafeWindow.openImgHere();
  }
}

if( window.location.origin.endsWith("rule34.xxx"))
{
  if(/\?s\=view|&s\=view/i.test(window.location.href) )
  {
    setTimeout(doFocusCheckOpen, 3000);
  }
}
else /* default */
{
  setTimeout(doFocusCheckOpen, 3000);
}

if(document.title=="503 Backend fetch failed")
{
    setTimeout(function(){ location.reload(); }, 2*1000);
}
else if (document.title=="I Just Don't Know What Went Wrong")
{
    setTimeout(function(){ location.reload(); }, 2*1000);
}

3) Open the page containing the image and all the comments and whatnot in a new tab (middle click), and switch away from said tab if it loads in the foreground. After three seconds or so it should open the full size image. Do that for every image you want (basically middle click on each result thumbnail) and then run the image saver addon.

This information is worth a lot to me, thank you

Although I still think why is it so fucking difficult to do something in Kemono, it seems wrong on purpose

I agree. Technically I could probably write a script to open all images in the current page in new tabs, but it'd be tricky and require some bad about:config setting changes regarding popup blocking.

BTW the versions of those scripts on my gitlab repository support more sites than just rule34.

More [trojansource.codes] encoding exploits. Fun times.

Is it this shade of blue?

Because if so, that means a big endian bug I've had for years has just jumped the channel somehow and is now fucking up little-endian systems as well. Or something with the exact same effect.

I think in my case the alpha channel and blue channel are in the wrong places in memory.

It's kind of sad no one seems to make non-IPS screen replacements for the original Game Boy or GB Pocket.
Even if they weren't green like the originals, I'd love a new reflective screen for a couple of my units that I killed the screens on (well, they were already busted, but I made them far worse and broken beyond repair).

I have four original game boys, and two need new screens. And one of the ones with a working screen has a slightly dark spot where I overheated the crystals while fixing a ribbon cable. Apparently you can rewire them so a GB pocket screen will work, but I would have to sacrifice a working GB Pocket for that.

Pretty much all original game boys seem to have dead pixel columns or rows these days.

There's a game boy clone called the "GB Boy," which looks like a chinese GB pocket clone, and it looks like the non-color one might use a reflective LCD. But I'd probably have to retrofit the entire unit into an original game boy shell and get the buttons lined up, since I don't think the LCD will be electronically compatible. Also it uses the wrong oscillator/clock crystal so I'd have to swap that out too.

Looks like Mozilla is going to force everyone onto webrender starting in 93.

Yep, I have all of those set.
They'll probably remove 'view image info' if enough people who enable it don't have telemetry turned on. Ironic, since they market that their browser is good for privacy.
Have a sampler of some of mine again.
CODE
user_pref("widget.non-native-theme.enabled", false);
user_pref("widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.allow-buttons", true);
user_pref("widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.round-thumb", false);
user_pref("widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.thumb-size", "0.88");
user_pref("widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.size", 14);
user_pref("dom.ipc.avoid-gtk", false);
user_pref("widget.content.gtk-theme-override", "(my GTK theme name goes here)");
That last one is required in addition to the ones above it to get a native scroll bar and scroll arrow buttons now.
CODE
user_pref("toolkit.scrollbox.horizontalScrollDistance", 1);
user_pref("toolkit.scrollbox.smoothScroll", false);
user_pref("toolkit.scrollbox.verticalScrollDistance", 1);
user_pref("browser.urlbar.suggest.bookmark", false);
user_pref("browser.urlbar.suggest.history", false);
user_pref("browser.urlbar.suggest.openpage", false);
user_pref("browser.urlbar.suggest.topsites", false);
user_pref("browser.urlbar.trimURLs", false);
user_pref("browser.uidensity", 1);
user_pref("browser.download.useDownloadDir", false);
user_pref("browser.formfill.enable", false);
user_pref("browser.compactmode.show", true);
user_pref("ui.prefersReducedMotion", 1);
user_pref("xpinstall.signatures.required", false);

'browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll' no longer works, so I have had to patch firefox (again) to fix that. Also viewing images in the current tab.

Also I have 500 lines of CSS in userChrome.css.

'ui.prefersReducedMotion' disables the tab bar smooth animations, btw. If you wondered.

Also, I'm still hoping you'll answer my question about the blue color.

Oh, it wasn't a joke? (I was confused by the loading of a movie in the middle of the browser (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) )
I was talking about a blue border around the focused element. Can be the url bar, the search, or various places where text can be written.
In the case of the box on the forum where I'm writing posts, the borders get cut and have no top, so it's very ugly.
Only place I saw it being that bad so far, but I'm just starting with that version (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
