My Galaxy J3 Luna Pro's screen cracked yesterday. Upgrading to a NOS unlocked Galaxy S7 32GB. Ordered an SD card, a glass screen protector, and an Otterbox Symmetry case for it. Trying to find just a glass, or a screen/digitizer/glass assembly for my current phone, but not having a great deal of luck.

I dropped it about 6' onto concrete, and a crack that looked like a gravel hit a windsheild appeared in the top corner. Was kind of poking at it, and a deep scratch that interested that divot cracked, and went all the way across the phone. I have electrical tape over the divot cause loose glass and it doesn't cover the screen proper.

Picked the S7 cause it's a flagship and still has some community support, has a home button, an sd card slot, and comes in a verizon CDMA version. Home button, official android 10, and CDMA in the same phone seems to be a pipe dream... (somebody please tell me who to give money to if I'm wrong)
I forget its name, but there was a phone with a full-blown slide-out keyboard that could run android 10. and unlockable bootloader. I had a friend with one (he moved away).
IDK about the home button though.

Keyboards seem like a cool idea, but don't work great with small sizes.

I had a phone with a keyboard that I barely used.

IMO if it's >= the size of a touch keyboard it's an improvement when you can tell which key each is.
I used mine heavily on my last phone that had one.

Phone came early, but the correct case isn't due till monday. It is a verizon phone, but does work with my sim card, and it isn't locked down like the moto was- I can actually delete the verizon contacts, and was able to disable all their apps. New contacts are persistent across reboots, and verizon contacts don't reappear. Was able to get call answer/hangup on home/power buttons, and already had my current sounds for stuff loaded- but it's from the same company and similar time period. Should work out just fine. Also nice that it still has micro USB

It was actually new + still wrapped up in a retail box, with all accessories- buying new phones, especially older models on ebay is kinda risky because a lot of sellers think "new" without further qualifiers means things other than exactly that.

It feels kind of cold and slick, and the back is even slicker + more fingerprint showing that the front. I think it has glass on both sides and a metal frame.

As an aside, although LineageOS supports the Galaxy S7 in theory, that's only the GSM version. The verizon cdma is of course a different hardware revision, and they don't have an image for it. Android 8 is better than 6, I guess. 10 would have nice though, so I can use my banking app again.

Sometime today, I'll put my google account into it, and start loading some apps, only installed the ones that are in Samsung's app store so far. And punch in all my contacts that are still relevant.

Other post was getting long.
I had a keyboard phone before I got a candybar. I could never really text on it, and it was very hard to dial. Took me a while to get to my candybar texting speed on a smartphone. I still doubt I could do much good on a keyboard. I still can't type as well while walking with a smartphone though.
Btw, I don't use predictive or autocorrect.

I think I finally found a way to express something that is wrong with this topic:
Above the messages, you can read "E-Hentai Forums > Discussion Forums > Tech Chat > What is the last thing you thought?" but when in this topic, it really feel you should read ""E-Hentai Forums > Discussion Forums > Tech Chat"

It's going too far from thoughts.
Or so I think.

You're entitled to that opinion.
But these are our thoughts on things we've done recently.

Cosmo Communicator seems to be what I was thinking of. Haven't heard back from my friend that I think has one, though.

Neat idea, at least. I don't know how practical it'd be for me.

Was looking thru a series of life in japan videos when the computing terminals in a tokyo fire station was shown. There are approx 300 fire stations in tokyo metro. Instead of wifi they use wired ethernet for security. The notebook PC in the picture say "Made in ToKYo" in the picture, but does anyone know the brand of the notebook PC shown in the picture?

Attached Image

NOTES: Tokyo metro typically owns a nearby basic apartment complex for most of fire stations. The younger single firefighters live (if they so wish) in them at reasonable cost savings and convenience to work. They save money and avoid huge commute time and rush hour traffic, and this also guarantees that a minimum number of firefighters are always quickly available to Surge if a great disaster strikes and the trains don't run and traffic is gridlocked. At the least, the fire stations will always have a minimum number of staff living close by each station. Each work shift at the fire station is 24 hours long.

The other advantage of Tokyo metro providing housing is that it allows young firefighters starting out in life with little funds a place to stay which of course is automatically deducted from their salary. This type of partial social welfare socialism is an effective and efficient use of public tax money and provides benefits to the Tokyo citizens as well with a reduction in commuter congestion.

Looks awfully like ProBook 450 G1... I don't see many that have ethernet port on left side from HP, could be wrong.
If I'm correct... that thing is 7 years old already.

I don't think I'm gonna do a casual anime tiddy wallpaper again, but do still meed to pick out a nice background that's mildly lewd or cute. Stupid tall, high resolution phone screens. At least android seems really good at image scaling.

Anyone know where I can find LR1 N-size (E90 in energizer nomenclature) NiMH rechargeable batteries of reputable make?

That or another way to get approximately 4.5 volts into an HP-28S. The diameter of a cell of around that voltage would have to be about the width of an AAA battery, with a length of around an AAA plus at most half a centimeter.

I'm thinking I'll try some [www.digikey.com] flat-topped 2/3 AAA batteries and pad them if necessary. Charging them will be annoying since I'll need to make or get some slugs to space them out for my chargers. Or make a new charger, but I don't think I will.

Maybe I'll make a lego thing wrapped in foil to wedge in there.

I used to get ASCII images from [upli.st] https://upli.st/l/list-of-all-ascii-emoticons but it seems broken to me now, like the server bugged and attempted to transcode stuff and it's all messy now.
But maybe it's on my end?
In all case, I wonder if I will find again this content one day.

edit: acted on that thought, and tried the wayback machine, and it displayed the page properly within the archive, so the issue is probably not on my end after all.

Oi, the S7 has mobile hotspot, and I can get my other phone to connect, but it doesn't work for some reason. Swapping the sim card back for now...
I don't have to pull the battery to get the sim out, but it's very irksome to remove. I just happened to have a resistor in my multimeter case with leads the right size.

And now I can't figure out how to view the wifi passwords in the J3 to connect the S7 to anything.

I find dismantling my computer to remove dust unacceptable, and moving it for proper blowing it with air pressure too much of a pain (and it may be harmed during transport).
This may be a solution, as you can probably remove dust with air pressure without moving anything and it would not be a problem in any way in this configuration.
Now I just need a few thousand billions on my bank account to have the leisure to put in practice such crazy things without caring about the costs. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
