I can confirm the former but not the latter.
ADDENDUM : Wow, nice. You can group those apps into little folders. Apple still is full of shit, only slightly less now.

Years ago when Microsoft still has its OneCare antivirus product, one of their staff stated "it's highly unusual for malware to be digitally signed" when justifying OneCare auto-allowing signed application to bypass its firewall. [ blogs.mcafee.com] He was proven wrong.

How could people even believe that crap ? I mean, just because an application has a valid certificate and is digitally signed doesn't mean it is safe. Especially when the certificate comes from the application itself...
Need an example ? Tapjoy.

I sure hope they'll take the poor old woman to the hospital at the very least.
For a couple brain scans.

Having to unlock your SIM card every time you reboot your iPad is a pain in the rear end.
Also, 3G sucks monkey balls even at full signal. And it's supposed to be five times faster than my home connection. I'm using WiFi and I just hope unused bandwidth adds up each month, because I'll have to pick a cheaper offer if it doesn't.
3 days left and 2GB out of 3GB monthly bandwidth left on my device.

3 days left and 2GB out of 3GB monthly bandwidth left on my device. Try some of these: [ osxdaily.com] http://osxdaily.com/2012/03/28/tips-to-red...pot-data-usage/ . Most of them also apply to data usage from iPad itself.

QUOTE(Dlaglacz @ Mar 29 2012, 11:10) You must be rebooting it often, why? I have an iPad for a year now, and I had to reboot it just twice... Crashing sloppy-coded applications. The first tip in your link is quite useful even though Personal Hotspot doesn't seem to be available on an iPad 2. I always forget to reset stats to track efficiency so that was quite helpful. Tips 2 to 8 (except for tip 5) are irrelevant because they don't concern my use of the device. Always disabling Push notifications is pretty much common sense. As for Tip 9 and the reminder, I always use WiFi as my primary connection, since Apple will bitch anyway if the apps are over 50 MB in size. Thanks, Dlaglacz. I've never been advertised that 3G is supposed to be faster than a home connection. Mine feels pretty fast though. Even loading up youtube videos is fairly quick with no need to pause for buffering.

Keep in mind that my home connection is pretty old and crappy. I'm using ADSL on a 802.11b WiFi router.
My 3G device is supposed to be 24 Mbps (3 MB/s) downstream, which is at least five times faster than my home connection (varying between 1 and 5 Mbps - anywhere from 125 KB/s to 625 KB/s - depending on my router's mood).
I guess I'm just unlucky. Or doing it wrong.

I decided not to jump into the smartphone bandwagon, yet. My friends have one, my siblings have one, everyone seems to have one. But first I want to see what Windows Phone 8 has in store for us in Q4 2012 and how it will compete with Android 4 & iOS 5.

Just make sure whatever mobile phone you get - when you decide to get one - allows for Flash and Java.
If you can access the filesystem without having to jailbreak your device, that's even better, but maybe that's asking for too much.

I don't do a damn thing that any smartphone couldn't do. I listen to music from my phone, I watch youtube videos, and I browse the forums from it. Occasionally I'll use the GPS on it.

Get that Samsung Note. Y'know, the huge one with the stylus. It'll be just like the late 90s when people carried around PDAs, except now you got innernets and phone on it.

If you ever decide to go for a mobile phone, listen to cmal and get the Korean one. And fuck Apple. Up the ass. With a strap-on, if you have to.
LTIT : If you want to go for a tablet instead, Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks awesome but Apple is trying to get it banned from every country because they are butthurt and use copyright infringement as an excuse. That's racist !

Each manufacturer has up to two or three dozens of smartphone and tablet models under their wing. Each model catered for every people with different needs and budget. Apple on the other hand... Well let's count - iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad & iPad 2. That's only seven. Yet none of them can compete against Apple's sales figures.

That's because everyone thinks Apple is best because apples taste good and Applejack is a nice girl.
On a more serious note, that's because Apple has a much bigger marketing budget.
