Well, its RGB is pretty humble compared to [ www.gigabyte.com] this one. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Evil Scorpio: Dec 30 2018, 18:00

QUOTE(Super-hujan86 @ Dec 27 2018, 02:14) Not only that I'm surprised that Asus is still making sound cards, I also wondered why the company's latest Pcie sound cards employ chipsets that designed for USB interface. Costs?
Yep, cost Their previous one was a 32-bit PCI interface with a PCIe bridge. Using existing commodity chips in mass production is cheaper. Wish my Audigy 2 ZS didn't have terrible tendencies to do poor hardware resampling; having a hardware mixer was so convenient. Also re:people who like blinding LED's, you have terrible taste and value appearance over functionality. If you weren't so into gaming, you'd buy Apple products. As it is you're perfect potential Razer customers. This post has been edited by dragontamer8740: Dec 31 2018, 17:27

QUOTE(Super-hujan86 @ Jan 2 2019, 11:27) To buy or not to buy - that is the question. [ www.asus.com] Asus Xonar SE 5.1 PCIe Sound CardWell, it's definitely better than an onboard audio. I personally think external USB-DAC is better than an internal sound card, though (especially if you use Win10). I use [ www.aliexpress.com] this one, for example. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) QUOTE(xcaliber9999 @ Jan 2 2019, 11:31) Isn't motherboard built-in sound card good enough ? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) No. Built-in audio is mostly horrible, unless you have a high-tier MB with ALC1220 - these ones are acceptable (but not that great either). Budget ones nowadays usually have something like like ALC8xx, and it's... deplorable, to say the least. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Wow, my Internet connection is completely breaking right now. For a while, it only loaded white pages, and now it load stuff partially (I'm almost always seeing the text instead of the images everywhere on the forum). I tried resetting my Internet box and my browser, and confirmed it affected mails too. I wonder if I should try to reset my computer itself.
edit: rebooting the computer seems to have fixed it.I wish OS weren't a messy tangling of obscure processes so that it would be possible to not have to use a full reboot, or even better, actually understand what's going wrong.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) I for one know my laptop's internal DAC is crap but don't actually care enough to get a modular one. For the amount of time I spend using studio-style monitors with my laptop, it's not worth the expense. The built-in speakers are bad enough that a better DAC wouldn't improve sound quality audibly.

Looking at local retailer's price, why on this earth are prices for DDR4 2933MHz memory modules way more expensive than DDR4 3200MHz?

same number of same capacity sticks? Does one have a fancy gamer "heat sink" on it that does nothing? That could be why.

Yes. I was comparing 8GB modules, all fitted with heatsinks. 2933 are way OP compared to 3200.

Turned out the 7nm GPU AMD announced at CES 2019 was really Vega II, or rather Vega "Seven" (VII). Looks like there's still a quite a long way for Navi architecture to come to light.
