Wow, optical fiber didn't work in the end. I didn't expect *look nervously at the dsl stuff that was never put away* that, no really, I trusted my ISP and the technicians, really really...not (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I totally hate the new Outlook. The new design is heavy on the CPU and the interface constantly flash whether I want to view new emails or write a message. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

QUOTE(someguywith @ May 27 2018, 06:57) Going to go back to windows 8.1 today. Anything I should do with my fresh install?
Remove it and go back to Windows 7. Barring that, Classic Shell and disable the charms bar. (or "Install Gentoo" meme) This post has been edited by dragontamer8740: May 28 2018, 19:29

I don't know why, but I like 8.1 I prefer it over 7. but that can be because back when I used 7 I still didn't know jack shit about computers. Disabling the charms bar was one of the first things I did. I'm used to the 8.1 feel so I'll skip Classic shell.

I'll stop trying to convince you; you're obviously an insane maniac if you prefer 8.1 over 7 and 10 (especially 7), and I value my not being murdered. (I used 8.0 for a year and 8.1 for a year at a job and it drove me up the wall crazy.) This post has been edited by dragontamer8740: May 29 2018, 04:05

Just installed MadVR and LAVfilters just to see some subs...display, i couldn't even manually check what subs to choose thanks to incompetent encoder not tagging streams properly and me not having at least Haali splitter installed.
And also installed Everything, i couldn't handle Win7's atrocious step back from XP's searching, i can't even search for a string in files with Win7...i'm almost ready to install some type of wingrep, hmmmmm.

I felt like pulling my hair out at first too, but once I started using my tablet (the big switch for me) it started feeling a lot better. 8/8.1 wasn't meant for a desktop, it was meant for a touch device.

A few times, I've spotted IP addresses from Afghanistan, Iran and the Palestinian state on my torrent client's peer lists. Maybe I shouldn't be at all surprised if one day I see someone from Syria is downloading through a torrent client.

Surprised that for a nation that's all too eager on cracking down messenger clients, VPN & western contents, they allow P2P/torrents. And I just remembered. There was that one time where I saw an IP address originating from Iraq. Yeah, I shouldn't be surprised when one day I'll the Syrian flag in the peer list. But still, how is that even possible? There's internet connection in Afghanistan & Iraq good enough for P2P sharing? On another note, should we be worried by M$'s attempt to buy Github?

RIP. Looks like I'm gonna move my stuff to GitLab now instead of 'later'. (I work occasionally on a text-based HTML game engine in the vein of CoC, and also have another account for my non-porn stuff). This post has been edited by dragontamer8740: Jun 5 2018, 01:38

My bad. I was talking about Outlook.com (or Outlook Mail).

I had to cover for someone who was on sick leave to do a slideshow presentation in front a group of govt staff and because my laptop didn't have Powerpoint installed, I resorted to use Portable LibreOffice. Unfortunately, due to compatiblity bugs related to Office OpenXML filter (formatting is all off and inability to edit Excel chart in the .pptx file), I was berated by the govt for using a "substandard" software. Where by "substandard" you mean something you paid shitloads of money despite having a free alternative and are now arguing your knowledge of software to make sure that decision is seen as correct. Right, sir?
