Search engines are trying to block torrent sites from appearing in their search results? Oh, what fools.

I don't know how Disqus could say my comment is spam. Or did some trolls flag it as such? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Radeon, NVIDIA, why did you fail to put out any interesting high-end GPU out this year?

What? Aren't the GTX 1080 & 1070 high end models from Nvidia?

They're high-end models, yes. They're not interesting tho

I was expecting HBM2 this year, what did we get instead? Better wattage? Yeah, that's kinda meh. At least there is GDDR5X, but that doesn't seem like good enough improvement when HBM2 is just around the corner with double the bus width. The only interesting GPU this year was RX 480, but that's not high end enough. It's interesting because it's price-to-performance ratio seems pretty sweet. For reference, if GTX 1080 managed similarly good price-to-performance ratio, it'd be priced at around $380 instead of $600 (which would've made it a very interesting GPU indeed).

Meh, the closing of the gap between desktop and laptop GPU's interesting enough for me.
Personally, I think if they were to add more power to the cards, at worst, we would have even poorly optimized games and at best, we would be crippled by consoles.

It's only interesting if you're looking from the laptop side (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) It's desktop GPU I want. They don't necessarily need to build more powerful card, if they manage to achieve the same power more economically (which is why RX 480 was the only "interesting" card, although not quite enough). I'd prefer more power tho, for increasingly life-like graphics.

I'd prefer more power tho, for increasingly life-like graphics. There is the rumored revised Polaris. Several sources at the web wrote it'll achieve 50% more performance-per-watt ratio over RX480 and going further down the rumor lane, it is said that the TDP has been decreased to as low as 90W (other sources put it at 95W) and probably be a better overclocker than the current lineup of Polaris-based cards. It is happening now. Arkham Knight, GoW Ultimate. Then came Quantum Break, Mafia 3, Forza 3, Batman Telltale Series. The performance of the remastered version of Bioshock wasn't stellar on the PC initially. I'm pretty sure Titanfall 2 & Halo Wars 2 will tank launch too since the developers appeared aren't so keen on rigorous beta testing on PC. So far only GoW 4 got lucky. Yeah, I heard about that too. Then again, I also heard that RX480 was going to have HBM2. Still, if true, that'd be mighty interesting. It's cheap enough to not worry too much about the OC burning the card.

Kinda pissed me off because it made my purchased card look like a broken version. Then, after a while, I said "Meh. Let's just wait wait until next year when Vega 10 & Vega 11 launches." The RX580 should be an interesting GPU aside from the monster that could be the RX590 & its dual-GPU version.
