For very basic protection, it's better than nothing (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (and it's free! bundled with the windows.. I haven't tried the Windows 10 version though..)

Zone alarm is a bit better I think but you need to adjust it carefully, else it obstructs your connection (I tried it years ago and didn't really work for me).

The same as it was in Windows 7. Because it won't allow me to make rules for Windows Store apps, just the old traditional W32 apps. So basically, nothing has changed.

WTF, I have to buy the app again just because I upgraded from Win8 to Win10!? RIPOFF!!! M$ is also to blame, for the mess that is of the failure to ensure all WP8 devices are upgradeable to W10 Mobile!!!

Couple more decades before it infects every university in the Western world if it continues unhindered. Luckily it's limited to the social sciences/humanities departments of schools. The moment it starts to cross the hard sciences boundary, people will start questioning priorities. Though it's a complete shame they're not questioning priorities even now, before it has the chance to become a full blown shitstorm.

Wouldn't give them too much credit, considering most if not all research papers could be summarized in 100 words or less. Yes, even those 15-page 9-font double-column ACM papers could be summarized to 100 words or less.

Ah, heard about that. Support for asynchronous I/O right? That would be quite the improvement.

Also, I don't see why you wouldn't just write an app for a store that would process male-language in an academic paper into gender-neutral language. If you feel really industrious, you could make it actually do something, instead of just saying it is doing something.

The fact they are so try-hard in getting people to use windows 10 always seems suspicious.

It would be normal had a salesman walks up to you and say:

instead its more like:

"Please! Take this away from me! Take it! Look, I'm going to give it for free okay? Just take it!" *secretly tried to put it into your pockets*
