MS Security Essentials is said to be using Windows Update to download its definition updates. So imagine my surprise when I found that it is still capable of updating itself despite that I've already disabled BITS & Windows Update service.

Fuck, i did it...

Today i completely destroyed the partition table of my machine while it was on. I managed to find the correct segments of the disc and recreate the partition table without shutting it down. Amazingly enough the machine still boots (after reinstalling grub that is)!

When are we going to have technology that makes passwords obsolete? I'm so fucking tired of having to remember and change these things all the time.

It is already here since the early 90s, it is public key cryptography. PGP was the first popular implementation. The problem is making people understand how it works: "your private key is private! and private means that you cannot send it to someone to verify that thing for you!"

I want to collect all my old computers and virtualize them. I wonder if they would run well on an ultrabook...

QUOTE
Google announced today that it made the decision to expand its non-Store extension installation policy to all Windows versions of the Chrome browser.

Back then, users on the stable or beta channel received notifications that unsupported extensions were disabled which meant that the browser had disabled all extensions not installed from the Chrome Web Store on launch.

While Google noticed a 75% drop in customer support help requests regarding uninstalling unwanted extensions afterwards from users of those channels, it did notice that malicious software forced "users into the developer channel in order to install unwanted off-store extensions".

Yeah, I'm sure that's the only reason.
Chromium here we come, I guess.

If any human able to work on new techs could get the means to do it from society/governments, I wonder how much more futuristic the world would be?

edit (to not double-post):

Before, on VHS, the "look at me I have great images" was defined by HQ.
Nowadays we have HD.
I wonder what will be next.

Oh, I know that feeling. I felt the same when my SSD went down with all my files once.

I wonder if the guy tagging the road below is working with my ISP about optic fiber.
From the company name on his clothes and my search on Internet, it seems possible.

Are they stuck in 2004 when they were 12?

It always shits me up & gets on my tits when i open an image in a new tab and it opens up their photobucket instead of the fucking image, fucking cunts aye.
