Did newer versions of firefox ever fix the whole leaking-ram-like-a-seive thing and lockups/crashes? Firefox 24 does seem more stable than older versions, but there's still room to improve.

They are just returning DOS like power back to DirectX (with better thread handling). If you optimised the software for mutlicore processors already then you can get the same performance gains. Microsoft claims it will be backwards compatible aside from probably needing windows 8 and above.

Its a bit like back to the future, developers were crying about the performance loss since Directx 1.

I'm sort of worried about this, since this _WILL_ result in sloppy games like in the goold'ol days...

Its just a modern update and unified framework for the old approach. The problem in the old days was that everyone kept their libraries and engines to themselves so progress was all over the place, DOS was bound to 16 bit and a bunch of other memory limitations so it went obsolete fast.

I think my charger is busted. I should've taken the constant chimes by the phone (signifying it is re-establishing the connection to the charger) during the charging as a sign.

i personally think directx 12 will be meh.... mainly because i fully expect them to release it only with windows 9...

People are complaining that FF on MS windows is buggy and slow as fuck so I believe that my FF on Linux was slow and buggy for the same reasons (whatever those reasons were). But, after some investigation, I discovered that addblock plugin has a memory leak somewhere. Killed addblock and FF works a lot better.

EDIT: installed adblock by hand (i.e. python and jinja2 stuff) and it seems to work better. Let's see how the memory consumption goes.

You think that's weird take a look at this old screenshot...

Apparently I had myself as a seeder at 100% but the file I was downloading was at 96%.
