I watched most of it already, i've been wanting to archive it and free up my HD's.

I have 1TB HD in each of my systems and that's it. I routinely fill my HDs to the brim quite quickly (~5-6 months) and I routinely go on a cleaning spree to free up space. It's quite cathartic.
I keep the stuff I really care about (<70GB between documents, programs, music and other data) synchronized through rsync between two physically distinct systems and that's it. Whoopee for single fault assumption.
0 cost for new HDs, 0 cost for RAID, no vague sense of guilt for being a hoarder, yay

I could fill 1TB in about 2 or 3 months.

I do the cleaning and organizing regularly as well, but you keep getting diminishing returns freeing up space.

I bought a LG G2 32GB phone

I currently have around 15TB of stuff just in my drives.
I'm at full capacity and i can't keep buying new drives because my closet is full of raid.

I saw Fujifilm and IBM made a tape drive with 32TB capacity, i'd like that but it's not supposed to be commercial for another decade...

The most reliable type of storage is optical media like CD/DVD/BD, but i find current 100-128GB bluray capacity to be sorely lacking for my taste.
I heard about a disc that could hold several hundreds of GB's but i forgot if it was a bluray or a successor type of disc.

But probably also a decade away.

And i remember something about 3 dimensional holographic data, which would in theory give you exabytes of space and lightspeed access times, alas by then AI will have destroyed us all and hoard it for themselves.

Honorable mention to celluloid film and nano carbon tubes for possible huge storage.

Cheapest way is to just buy a NAS setup, have it backup everything into a compressed file then remove the old one and repeat for every 1-2 year.

I'm tired of Firefox. Version 29 Beta is crashing all the time, lagging as hell with flash since 27 and new UI looks ugly as fuck. I'm moving to Opera for a while, especially since it finally has an extension for userscripts support.

Also I didn't know the Unix Desktop has now finally moved to a point where if you install a Desktop Environment it wont fuck everything up and you don't have to manually install/edit stuff to get wireless working.

I like Fox, but currently it's just unusable. Also have you seen the new UI in v29? It looks almost the same as Opera and Chrome now. Plus the Flash support is fucked.

They are just returning DOS like power back to DirectX (with better thread handling). If you optimised the software for mutlicore processors already then you can get the same performance gains. Microsoft claims it will be backwards compatible aside from probably needing windows 8 and above.

Its a bit like back to the future, developers were crying about the performance loss since Directx 1.

Well that you can switch back to if I remember correctly.

Also I'm just guessing it's Shumway that is screwing up the flash.

But then again I'm using stable... So no issues here.

I hope they're aware that DOS is still a 16bit system in terms of memory access by a single process.
