QUOTE Windows 8's eradication of the humble Start button prompted an outpouring of computing grief not seen since the demise of the floppy disk - but it may return. According to various rumours, Windows 8.1 may include the option to boot your system straight into the traditional start-up interface rather than the newer version. When launched Windows 8 was criticised for ditching the start button. Not only was it an icon that many had grown up with, it also created hordes of confused people who simply couldn't navigate the new interface (especially when drunk). The Windows userbase finally managed to go full sperg. It takes approximately one hour to get used to the new interface, and it's really not that bad.

It's not that people can't get used to it, it's that why change something that works (better) to something that's clearly made for certain types of computers (Tablets/Touch-screens). I don't really see any reason why did they ditch out the normal start button in the first place, why would anyone sane desktop person want the Blocks UI or whatever it's called, just think if start button was full screen, that would be nightmare.

Actually, I've been using the Metro UI as a full-screen start menu for some time and now the "classic" start menu always feel kind of constricting. But I'm starting to sound like a Windows 8 shill, so I'll just stop.

Checked FF's tracking setting. Installed Spyware Blaster, DoNotTrackMe & Ad-Block Plus add-on. Subscribed to Easy Privacy & Fanboy Tracking List. I wonder if I'm overdoing it.

[ www.libreplan.com] LibrePlan I never knew there is an open source alternative to Microsoft Project. Judging from its name, I thought it was developed by The Document Foundation.
