Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, my hard disk is throwing errors, it just got corrupted. I must have made fun too much from hujan's disk failures and now the hardware gnomes are coming after me.
It's not that I lost data, I'm frantic about backups, but the thought that I need to buy a new disk, open the laptop, install the new disk, reinstall the OSes (yup, more than one OS), copy the data and reconfigure a bunch of applications is just panful.
(I might try to fix the disk instead of buying a new one, but everything will need to be reinstalled nevertheless.)

My external 750gig HD is making my pc crash, so i had to disconnect it to just use my pc again, hmm gotta free up some room on it to defrag it and block bad sectors. |

It's disappearing, isn't it? It was foreseable since the day gmail came out. P.D. Oh that! That GPU uses a Tahiti LE chip. The chip packs more performance than Tatihi. But the trade off is more heat & power consumption. That would explain the noisy fan.
