Save up for a new computer or buy robot toys? What a conundrum.

Wasted countless hours trying to run this over and over again, using compatibility modes, virtual machines...

...and all I needed was a clean DirectX update even though mine was up-to-date according to Microsoft.

Oh wow.

DirectX is a gigantic clusterfuck since some games use modified versions of components that don't play well with others.

Spent 1 hour writing a really long support mail using touchpad input. Even with my slow posting, it would have taken less than 15 minutes with IME, triple-checking all the stuff.

Time to put a new kind of support team to the test and see if they're better than the shitty ones we have here. No high expectations, though.

I'm always amazed at commercial font sites embedding non-free fonts in their webpages for preview purposes
They must not have realized people can actually download them

Guess they are slightly more concerned about the decent amount of users who don't know that and buy stuff they already have.

Indeed.

Also, Windows 7 fucked up again, I'm going to have to fix it from scratch again. Can't wait to get my new laptop.

My 4 month old headphones have crapped out on the right side, the magnet came loose and i reattached it but now the volume is like 100% L - 60% R and i don't wanna slide the scale on my output, i'll open it up again and see if i can fix it.

I go through headphones allot lately.

If the reliability of both SSD & HDD is next to none, then what the fuck am I suppose to use? Just when I was starting to enjoy fast & quiet computing (due to the HDD being no longer part of my desktop's components)... So now what, install a 2.5" HDD?

Never get a SSD that isn't Intel.
Get an Intel SSD if you want a SSD.

If you want to go back to HDDs, can't help with decent brands, poll users or shout "pony" to get 10B here. Too lazy to go boot the old XP rig and check the brand of the 10GB HDD that's on it. Still works fine though it does take quite a while to run stuff.

If reliability is the biggest concern either:
SCSI hdd
or a SSD hard drive made for enterprise.
