[news.softpedia.com] Top Advertisers Urge Microsoft to Shut Down Internet Explorer 10’s “Do Not Track”
Since when advertising companies ever comply? They'll collect users' data anyway even if the DNT header is enabled. It's not like they have any ethics.

The average IE user probably doesn't even know about privacy issues.

Microsoft Auto-AdBlock. Sounds promising.

Petty is clearly and understatement.

[www.guru3d.com] Thank you DHL for destroying a Graphics Card

Though it never happened to me, this makes me think twice before making any online purchase.

I'm 25/26 on Packages from Newegg (21 of them from UPS, the rest FedEx/DHL). The one time I was TRULY ever concerned was when I was buying an entire 5.1 entertainment system with full sized Polk front monitor speakers, but UPS got them delivered super early, when I was leaving for work infact. You know, $1100 worth of audio gear, flimsy speaker boxes, but it worked out all right.

The ONE time I got a crushed box (by UPS), it was for an item 1/3 the size and the box was full of packing material so it was safe.

Generally speaking the smaller the box, or rather the smaller the cardboard stock, the more likely there will be damage. For something like that MSI card, the box was probably fit to the retail packaging with little packing material, so that complicated things further.

Does anyone know if there's a way to trick hosts like wupload or fileserve which only allow oneselves downloads?

Most likely because it is a well-known fact that all modern technology comes from Japan.

Also, Lumia series. [uk.reuters.com] Facing finisher attempts from Bad Apple and Dongbang Tristar, Nokia needs tough cards to promote their snowphones.

Technology hates, HATES I say, spirits and the supernatural.

That or it just sux. Much like Intel using fucking PowerVR chipsets and not providing squat for drivers. Fucking POS GMA3600, not a single 64-bit driver to be had. And don't even try to hope for some open source OS support. Dammit, don't need no steenking video anyway, I'll just ssh into it... <shakes fist> Headless or video crippled Fedora makes me sad. Why put a fucking HDMI output if nothing can use it fully except 32-bit Windows 7? Wait, did I say "fully"? Excluding any DirectX support that is. <shakes fist again>

Now to see how well those SATA cards are supported on FreeBSD on the other box... <sigh>

QUOTE(Advanced Host Controller Interface @ Wikipedia)
Some operating systems, notably Windows Vista and Windows 7, do not configure themselves to load the AHCI driver upon boot if the SATA-drive controller was not in AHCI mode at the time of installation. This can cause failure to boot with an error message if the SATA controller is later switched to AHCI mode. For this reason, Intel recommends changing the drive controller to AHCI or RAID before installing an operating system. (It may also be necessary to load chipset-specific AHCI or RAID drivers — from a USB Flash drive, for example — at installation time.)
My disk boot failures all came from mechanical issues but I haven't had any with Windows 7. Yet.

Get people to share their wupload/fileserve accounts. On the other hand I doubt (Most of) the people that used to upload stuff there care about their accounts anymore. So you can try contacting the uploaders.
