Yeah. Sadly you can't really only rely on a single player in this world. I like the UI on MPC a shitload more than on VLC though.

All the cool kids now use MPC-HC with madVR and LAV Filters or CoreAVC+CUDA

I use Zoom Player (pre-GOLD VERSION whoring versions) and CCCP+CoreAVC.

I use KMPlayer with Winamp library and hotkey plugins added; Don't need to deal with any codec packs since it has built-in internal filters for pretty much everything and thoroughly destroys VLC in pretty much everything, especially subtitle control/rendering.

I use KMPlayer too.

The MPC-HC bug couldn't be due to the faulty internal video filter as not all Divx/Xvid files were affected. So there could a bug in the media player's code itself.

The reason I no longer use VLC was because there were frame skips in almost every video I played and it was persistent even in version 2.0, with or without Hardware Acceleration.

It just updated itself this afternoon. Maybe it's also checking for updates every few hours, not just at startup.
