Try using VLC (or something similar and better) when MPC fails.

DARK HOUR EDIT : Also, [www.cccp-project.net] CCCP, if you aren't using them for your player already.

Yeah. Sadly you can't really only rely on a single player in this world. I like the UI on MPC a shitload more than on VLC though.

I use KMPlayer with Winamp library and hotkey plugins added; Don't need to deal with any codec packs since it has built-in internal filters for pretty much everything and thoroughly destroys VLC in pretty much everything, especially subtitle control/rendering.

Holy Motherland, so many alternatives.

I'll stick with my mediocre player and out-of-date communist pack as long as that shit works.

The MPC-HC bug couldn't be due to the faulty internal video filter as not all Divx/Xvid files were affected. So there could a bug in the media player's code itself.

The reason I no longer use VLC was because there were frame skips in almost every video I played and it was persistent even in version 2.0, with or without Hardware Acceleration.

MPC-HC+CoreAVC (DXVA) for me.

Retards cracking games that do not require to be installed and do not require the actual disc never fail to crack me up.

The v4.1 RC of Microsoft Security Essentials checks and downloads updates at every computer startup. Finally spotted a difference between versions.

That's strange, my BT port spontaneously closed. It was working yesterday and my H@H port is still open.

It just updated itself this afternoon. Maybe it's also checking for updates every few hours, not just at startup.

"Warning : you may experience slowdowns if you perform a minimum install."

I don't think so. The whole data already is on my HD, so yeah.
