QUOTE(bladejtr @ Oct 29 2010, 18:55) So, can anyone tell me what these elemental gem effects do, since I actually see the silly things now.
- The Spike Shield effects from the spell and the elemental gems now have a chance of affecting the attacking enemy with the corresponding elemental debuff. (Searing Skin/Deep Burns/Turbulent Air/Freezing Limbs) example: that means if you use a fire gem during the battle. you will get not only "fire shield" but also enemy will get "Searing Skin".

Give me a bit of credit, I did read the thread.
I'm asking what the elemental debuffs actually do.

Any plans to make Hulk suffix not useless - if it is going to be dropping more often now...?

Huh? Considering that it applies the bonus to all slashing/piercing/crushing attacks, it's anything but useless.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 29 2010, 05:22) You know, that's a good point.
So yeah, I just went and made that change as well.
Yay! This was the most disturbing aspect of the update to me, but now I needn't whine about it. My browser and/or computer are too slow to properly farm anything in the game... it usually takes me a whole day to slog through an IW run. Money is always tight, but it looks like I can do decently at the arena instead of focusing on IW. I wish I hadn't been selling all my infusions and scrolls now though...

I guess the wiki needs to be updated then, it says there Hulk only reduces damage from scary ghost's attacks. Edit: QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 28 2010, 16:47) - Physical resistance is now properly applied to mitigate against attacks with Crushing/Piercing/Slashing damage type, both for base resistance and equipment bonuses.
Maybe Fixing the 'Hulk' suffix is what this meant. This post has been edited by PsychoticSoul: Oct 29 2010, 17:51

4.8 The Good, the Bad, the Ugly
Good: All equipment having suffixes Demon-Fiend Gossamer Changes to potions Improvement of boss/legendary trophies Fixing bug with channeling Domino strike fix Arena Changes (I don't care, but maybe it is a good thing?) Cloak of the Fallen
Bad: Cloak of the Fallen Lifestream change. (Possibly) Limit on equipment Enemy credit drops decreasing Reduction in Item sale prices
Ugly: Reduction in Equipment sale prices 1/10 drop rate of trophies from non-last round legendaries. No added equipment sets. (I want at least 3 more)

Tenboro meant no crude potions, not no crude equipment.

So that's what it is... Seriously, just bring the old Heavy back. I highly doubt it will be "overpower" by now. In fact, it would still suck.. so why not bring it back? Heavy that drop these day just simply not worth it...

It did, but it was always supposed to reduce all non-elemental damage. At least that was my original intention, and I honestly don't know why it wasn't. QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Oct 29 2010, 18:19) And what's the rationale behind this change anyway?
Horrible performance when viewing the equipment pane with too many weapons. And you seriously don't need to store more than a thousand of them. If I ever limit it to a level that's more normal in this type of game, you might be entitled to whine about it. QUOTE(buktore @ Oct 29 2010, 20:33) Seriously, just bring the old Heavy back. Right now, we have an almost equal number of people using cloth/light/heavy. So I see no reason to change the balance.

Interesting. Is this true at all levels?

Cloth gets somewhat more prevalent on higher levels, but all armor types are still represented.

Right now, we have an almost equal number of people using cloth/light/heavy. So I see no reason to change the balance. Ooo, if you look at those statistics, how about the numbers of people using 1H and 2H weapons? Based on what people say, clubs, daggers, shortswords, sword-chucks, estocs, maces and scythes are much, much less popular than rapiers, wakis, katanas and longswords (out of those, I think people occasionally use daggers, shortsword and sword-chucks, with clubs, maces, estocs and scythes being seen as nearly totally useless). Can we confirm this with numbers? Also, I recently heard that nobody cares about depreciating proficiency, so all curse-weaver could use some boost (preferably in how depreciating spells work, as it seems that no amount of +depr prof is worth using...). Sword-chuks aren't useless. I'd love for them to drop more often so I could get a better one. I also have thoughts on how to improve clubs and daggers. I'm not sure 2-handers are possible to be improved, even if they get a serious serious increase in damage. Nothing can be done to improve curse-weaver gear, but that doesn't mean that deprecating spells are bad. It just means that other things are more important.

This. Keeping track of the things you want keep out of six (for me anyway; evade/elem/holy/forbidden/thrice-blessed/spirit-ward) outfits is very annoying.

Katanas and Wakisazhi aren't that much used as of this instant, but that's probably a combination of being a) rare and b) not giving proficiency. Otherwise, pretty much, yeah. Willow Staffs, Clubs, Maces, Scythes, Swordchucks and Estoc are all used by less than 10 100+ people. Daggers are actually the 4th most used weapon equip, mostly as offhand or D/W.

I could use up to 9 (evade, light, heavy, thrice, spirit, elem, holy, thrice, fox), but I doubt most people need that many.
