I'll say this much: None of my figurines have been obtained while Pony Mode was on (to my knowledge, anyways).

I must have really shitty luck then. I must have found at least 100 artifacts before I found my figurine.

I usually get between 2-6 artifacts doing all the arenas up to but excluding To Kill a God. Average/Most common is 3-4. When figurines first came out I was doing 500-1000 rounds of grindfest on normal a day (for about 2 weeks). Found about an artifact every 200 rounds average. Maybe my 100 was an exaggeration? It sure felt like a lot though =\

How long have figurines been around? I think since the patch? Sept 24th? If so, definitely 100+ artifacts assuming 3 a day from Oct 1st til now

Not too sure but what I *do* know is I didn't find a figurine until 2 days ago, when I turned on pony mode. That's quite the coincidence although Halizorat suggets otherwise

Has the drop rate of Special items been established? I managed to get a Flower Vase and Bubble Gum during Arena crawls today.

According to the wiki, there's a 1% of the item dropped being a special one with the chances increasing when you have a higher loot quality bonus.

I doubt it's 1 %, I mean isn't artifact rate way lower than that? And yet they're not as rare as figurines/flower vase/soul stone etc...

Special items ARE the Soul Stone / Flower Vase / Bubble Gum, which the wiki says has at least a 1% drop rate (if the drop is an item).

Artifacts have at least a .1% drop rate, while equipment is at least 2%.

So from what I understand, if you want to be specific, you have a 97.9% chance of the drop being an item, and a 1% of that item being a special item, making it an overall .979% chance of a special item being dropped. (This assumes 0 Training is done to LotD, Scavenger, Quatermaster and Archaeologist, as well as ignoring the currently unknown drop rates of tokens and collectibles.)

This is my interpretation of it anyways. The page also says that the numbers are estimates anyways, so even if I did my math right it probably wouldn't be very close to the actual.

EDIT: The items pages says ~0.2% drop for them, but the reference given is over 2 years old, so it's probably slightly different.

Also, on the subject of drop rates: Are the drop rates of the schoolgirls' trophies from End of Days to A Dance with Dragons affected bv Scavenger, or is it a static 10%?

Well, I guess I'll go through it a few times over the next week or two and see if I feel like it's worth it then. Otherwise, I guess I'll just stick with the previous arenas.

The more I train LotD, the crappier the drops get.
