It's 2 handed so it should get domino as well (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) That might be fun. ... When I play FF Tactics (ps1), I love to use my oracle to whack some unfortunate soul with a staff (called 'stick' in that game). Its really fun. *sigh* ... I miss that game. Emulatorrrr (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Multiple ET would be pretty random too although I can't seem how that'd work... lol (if its low difficulty the staff will kill everything so you can't ET but if it's high difficulty you'll die trying to ET so many monsters at once) Go play Ogre Tactics (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE(dcherry @ Dec 10 2011, 06:15) Emulatorrrr (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) .... Go play Ogre Tactics (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Saying that I miss the game is certainly misleading. Maybe I should say "I miss the joy of playing that game" instead because I already played it to death and I wish I never have done that... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) This is one of the reason I decided to play HV at a slow pace. I've look into tactic ogre, but something kinda keep me from it... Maybe once there's nothing left to do in HV, I might give it a try. QUOTE(Evil Scorpio @ Dec 10 2011, 07:07) By the way, if we're talking about weird suffixes... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) That's normal. (For some reason, I still have this) The weirdest suffix I've got so far was the Power Armor of Negation. I mean... wat!? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) ... Its not drop anymore though.

Maybe once there's nothing left to do in HV, I might give it a try. then play the remake of TO. it's very different, or if that's the one you meant, the older snes/psx version. Surprised to find other people who've played ogre battle games! I hope SE continues the series, but doesn't change the MotBQ formula too much (i love it how it is!). For a long time i thought they bought the IP just to sit on it, i even once e-mailed them about it and the response i got was basically "We have no intention of bothering at this time". BUT ANYWAY i guess i should say something related to HV, so i used to have a full silk/cheetah outfit in an attempt early on for something different, but i bazaar'd it all due to being low-level trash. I still have some dragonhide and soul-element ethereals laying around for nostalgia.

MotBQ was probably one of my favorite games of all time. The game Buktore "played to death" was FF tactics (I believe it's made by the person who did Ogre Tactics). PoLC was pretty decent as well.
I heard the soul ethereals might possibly be save-able via forge

I really love how MotBQ played. no other game has had gameplay like it, though the n64 one tried, it sortof ruined parts of it in an effort to be different. (particularly speed, as well as balance, i hated trying to keep a good leveled army in it that was diverse and fun... the training thing was ruinous, imho, even while TO's was just tedious.) I wish we had gotten the wonderswan color one (iirc), but it's forever lost afaik, it played like MotBQ, though it has so much japanese i couldn't even attempt to wade through any of it with kana sheets and an online translator. --- I actually had looked forward to using a void/soul DW somehow, as it sounds cool, but it's just better/easier to go void/void. *looks at toplists* Bah, maintaining 3rd place in the Toplist is impossible at point, and just when I got 3rd recently after several months of trying to get there. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Time to go back to my regular torrenting ways. Can't get the Award, but the credits from GP is always nice. Also, I'm guessing the demand for Vigor Crystals (or Crystals in general) has gone down a lot? Haven't really been going to the Item Shop very often over the last few weeks, but I'm noticing Vigor Crystals actually staying in the shop long enough for me to buy a few.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Yeah the funnest parts for me were the unit compositions and getting the special chars. Stamina and alignment cohesion within units ruined it. I found leveling pretty easy because enemy units were poorly designed (easy to farm). Never bothered with training except to gather Pedras. MotBQ was more awesome since item drops were random. Set item drops ruined PoLC Never trained in TO - way too time consuming and their guys always seem to be buffer than mine anyways (until late game, that is) Soul isn't getting enough loving at all =( Mages can use it a little just because burst is so awesomesaucesome damage. IMO robots should be weak vs soul rather than practically immune to it =\ woooo finally 300 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) This post has been edited by dcherry: Dec 10 2011, 12:16

That's just an urban legend, just like the mythical melee skill. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) ... This is not a serious complain. But I think the randomness in the loot system is a bit too much. Its bent the mind a little when you play a lot of BT & IWBTH arenas and get nothing but Fine/Superior then play 1 lower-tier arena at Nightmare/Nintendo and got Exquisite. Or get Superior in the first round and Average in round 100+ ... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) It used to be fairly consistent and more predictable in the past though you can't get as high quality as today drop. It seem to me that the most reliable way to get high grade gear is from the RoB clear bonus at higher difficulty. This post has been edited by buktore: Dec 10 2011, 13:32

For some reason enabling Turbo Mode slows down everything. Chrome is still the fastest, Firefox comes second.

Haha actually you could pretty easily break the game with it. a handful of the shop items were tied to your highest level (so you could unlock spells faster, particularly heal), and the enemies only followed your level outside of story games (random battles against lv 30's in chapter 1, while the story fights barely even touch lv 5/6.) and once you got ahold of a pair of healers, you could easily play the system (cheat) by stripping both, giving them heal, and setting them on AI against each other then read a book. And your own max level cap was 50, and the random enemies stopped following you at around 30-something. I never managed to finish TO on either psx or psp, as i always got distracted by the hell's gate side-dungeon, haha... --- Anyway, does anyone know how much hp real life, IPU and FSM have on normal through heroic? blood tokens are ridiculously rare now and i don't want to waste 9 just to find out. (I only have 11. compared to 53 chaos tokens.) Edit: just an approximation would be good This post has been edited by RajaNagaSoz: Dec 10 2011, 19:51

IWBTH and BT = Shortsword and Buckler Drops then go back to normal for a minute and you will get some Katalox drops (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) It really does seem that way. I've found many bucklers and short swords with disappointing prefixes via BT/IWBTH but I think it has more to do with kill speed than anything else. When you speeding through normal/hard rounds you're bound to have more rare drops since the rounds go by so much faster. Even though the chance for a nice drop isn't as high, the speed makes up for it. I do think RoB has nice drops on high difficulty though (namely mr FSM). I think he dropped me two magnificents? One on nintendo and another on IWBTH QUOTE(RajaNagaSoz @ Dec 10 2011, 10:28) Haha actually you could pretty easily break the game with it. a handful of the shop items were tied to your highest level (so you could unlock spells faster, particularly heal), and the enemies only followed your level outside of story games (random battles against lv 30's in chapter 1, while the story fights barely even touch lv 5/6.) and once you got ahold of a pair of healers, you could easily play the system (cheat) by stripping both, giving them heal, and setting them on AI against each other then read a book. Not sure if you can really call that playing the game (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Outleveling/outgearing totally takes the challenge and fun out of it. If you progress through it normally most of the levels outgear AND outlevel you - the way it should be. As for the healing training yeah I know about it. Didn't do it though for the aforementioned reason. Hell dungeon was ok. Kinda too easy though
