I probably need twice that many rounds on nightmare just to level once. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Ah the good ole days. This post has been edited by Conquest101: Nov 26 2010, 17:38

Most likely referring to the same name.. but TOTALLY different items.. The first one seems infinitely better.

It's the good old "Bait and Switch" routine! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) You know, put something good for sale, then use a fake (something with similar appearance, stats, name, but lower quality) to trade for money.

Frak, I picked up some Gum and didn't notice it. Missed my chance to double-check the regex string.

Obagon was buying them before for full bazaar price of 500C, and I bought several out of player shops for that price too before I fought FSM. Wouldn't pay that much for them anymore though.

I stopped buying them after I got 250 of them. I am saving them up so I can try and Tank End of Days with full plate armor, sword and shield.

I bought a SoG for 450, and just used it to beat Dalek for the first time. They're very useful for us poor low-level folks, what with the "everyone can one-shot you every turn" damage. I've also gotten a grand total of 2, ever, in months of play.
Took just under 99 turns of thunderstorming and braining with a staff, and all I got were a pair of fine cotton gloves... And 10,000 creds. Made up for the scroll, at least.

i just don't get it about accuracy bonus... basically with rapier and sword DW @46% and a DW katana @20% i miss the same (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) seems that only adm matters can someone of my same level confirm this?

i am getting 38% because of my sword, my chucks don't have any bonus for accuracy but do massive damage and bleed, and help my crit % most of the time now if I get bleed on a monster I can move on to another one and the bleed will finish it off. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i think that i will change also my oh shortsword with something of high dmg i'm using a rapier and a sword for a nice 19% parry but it seems that 27% adm is not enough i have the same adm with a katana, only 2% of parry but for the nature of 2h i have the double of chances of domino strike, while with dw i do less dmg with only the half to proc offhand strike (which overall do less damage than domino)
the katana is definetively better in cakefest today i will try the arena with it to see if i do better that DW

Niten is indeed nice; its used to be not really that nice, but after the 2H bug fixed, it's really good now. The only 3 reasons for anyone to not use it are 1) Didn't have a good pair. 2) It doesn't gain prof. and 3) You're mage. I remember seeing cmal request for prof gain while using Niten and I thought "doesn't that broke the game? since there would be no reasons to use other style.."*, now I started to see why he wanted it.. it still kinda broke the game I think**, but more power to melee is ALWAYS welcome, judging from the current situations. *,** Yes, I do think about balance in the game! Considering the rarity of Niten weapons and the fact that proficiency gain rates don't need to be the same across all fighting styles, I don't think allowing Niten to raise DW or 2H is unbalanced at all. It would just save me an equipment set since it would probably take me as long, probably longer, to cap them using Niten than doing them individually.

i think the same
probably if you allow niten to raise dw and 2h it will take double time instead using one of two styles
ere the balance

@ cmal When you're melee (if you still do..), with the exception in some extreme cases (EoD, RoB, ETC), do you still use regular DW or 2H other than for the reason of gaining prof? If the answer is NO*, the idea that Niten can gain prof indeed might actually broke the game. Indeed, a good Niten set is hard to find, but Niten set itself isn't really that hard to find IMO. If Niten can gain prof, it will easily made regular 2H obsolete since it's not that hard find a mediocre Katana with equal or better stats than most regular 2H, than you can just slap any wakizashi on to offhand and you get something that is superior than normal 2H in every way. My reason that it broke the game is not because it will be more powerful than other style, but it make other style obsolete. (IE: normal 2H) That's what I'm trying to say. But anyway... as I said earlier, ANYTHING that would make melee more powerful is ALWAYS a good thing right now, even if it broke the game.. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) *EDIT: Change YES to NO. This post has been edited by buktore: Nov 28 2010, 18:59

For boss enemies like Dalek, Mithra, White Bunneh, and Manbearpig...I just want to make sure that I got the strategy that I am going to use against them right:
Before even entering the battle, make sure that you have 3 mana potions, 2 health potions, and 2 spirit potions, as well as Scrolls of the Gods in a Scroll Slot in case something goes wrong.
I also want to make sure that I know the spells Silence and Spark of Life (full level for both and that I have a good proficiency in the proficencies required. What is a good proficency to have and in which categories before taking on any of the Boss monsters?
I am assumiing that I shouldn't take on any of those four on until I'm around Level 75-80 or so. Am I on the right track so far?
First, immediately upon entering the battle, you want to cast Spark of Life and then the turn afterwords, cast silence and then possibly poison on the boss, then, with a high probability proc Rapier, when he is silenced, to keep hitting him with the Rapier until the Penetrate Armor happens, and then unleash my soul attack...All I need to do is heal when I get too low and recast sboth Silence and Spark of Life as they wear off.
Is this the right strategy to use against boss monsters?
Also, great work on the game!
