I guess you didn't like Shiro enough to make her as close as possible to the source material.

The sheer number of giants and dragonkin made me recently switch from elec + fire to wind + elec

Happens to work quite well with Neptunia too (whom I just started to encounter), since it's absurdly strong against elec, but dies quite easily to wind damage.


Anything that doesn't get killed by wind damage is usually quite weak to some other element (mostly undeads and robots)

well your elec fries the robots. it's the undeads that ruin everything, really =\

But undeads are nowhere near as popular as the other types. I guess they're harder to level up due to less available resistances, and so most of them are stuck in the mid levels.

well right now we have kennel/rei ayanami/Satsuki Yumizuka/Evil/sankarea

the available bestiary to us has a pretty low count because only that many is really "close to our level" the rest of the monsters have an abysmally low chance of even getting a chance at us

pretty high chance to run into one of those above in a round. heck i see eila/lise every 2 rounds at *least* so come 9 monster round i'm almost guaranteed to see one of the above

Negligible damage compared to Giants/freakish Humanoids, easy to nerf, easier to steamroll with Meteor/Flames of Loki and resistant to magic/Magic Missile which means more mana leech since they don't die as easily as Elementals.

leech (i assume ET since wacky wacky with illithid isnt' there yet) is reliable but omg that takes forever'

honestly if undeads weren't around i wouldn't be going elec/fire since fire isn't really a useful element right now other than for undead killing and elec proc-ing

She's currently the highest PL Giant, don't know if that would make her the best. I'm almost done with her though so I'm not sure how long she can stay at the number one spot.

Maybe because I only do a few arenas, but I don't see nearly as many undead as you're describing.

Yes, I do see the ones you mention, but out of those 5, only satsuki sometimes doesn't die to a follow-up inferno. The rest are weak enough that if they get proc'd with Turbulent air, a follow-up thunderstorm kills them just the same.

Then again I only play my top two arenas on hard lol. You're probably playing on nightmare daily, but I just don't have the time to do so many arenas on higher difficulties everyday.


I only ET elementals and celestials, because they both give a lot of mana per turn and deal very little damage.

yeah on normal/hard the 75% res kinda helps. *might* stop the nuke from melting the whole group and leaving 1 or 2 (50/50 chance whether a guy dies or not, also depending on whether they were primary target)

yeah i usually nightmare my top few arenas if i have great status and normal the rest. might start trying hell now i think

ET is nice but higher diffuclty = higher damage and i keep 5 buffs on during nightmare so each time i do the ET i'm ticking away a *lot* of turns on my buffs

Can you one-shot on nightmare? Or at least one-shot more than half the enemies every round? The only thing stopping me from playing on higher difficulties is time constraints. If I have to spend more time killing everything, then I might as well play more arenas on normal difficulty (which I don't). I've been using 6-8 lesser/average mana potions for To Kill a God and Eve of Death on hard. I don't actually ET all that much, just whenever an elemental or celestial is conveniently the last monster left alive with CM proc'd (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Do what Sayo did. Create a monster based on the touhou's title. Cept he did it with his gloomy ghost girl.

definite no. i got garbage gear. usually takes me a chain light + meteor to clear most of them. then third spell to finish it up. sometimes there's a douche that i missed on then it takes me 4-6 turns instead of the 3 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I'll stick to my 80% one-shots on hard then (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I just use elementalist gear btw (plus a pretty decent staff from Conquest). I take it you're using EDB phase? I'm too finicky to pick a single element, though I might start looking to getting some freyr gear now that I'm mostly sticking to opening with wind spells.

exp gain/time is higher though despite the lack of 1 shot (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)
