I doubt this is possible. Being able to change equipment suffixes is too broken.

You'll be able to see what you'll end up with before committing to anything, anyway. You won't ever lose stats, but it might stop you from upgrading them.

How far can we upgrade equipment? That is, are we able to upgrade current max gear into "pre-nerf" levels?

Well, for obvious reasons (such as renaming gear to something misleading), reforged equipment won't be tradeable.

Also, please never ever make the upgrade materials tradeable either. People would just buy their materials instead of earning them through monsters.

I would be interested if there will be a maximal number of possible upgrades.
If I can upgrade any shitdrop until it is maxed out good drops would not be special any more.

I don't think preventing monster trainers from selling their loot is desirable by either party. But I do expect high-grade mats to reach silly prices soon enough.

Can't sell them either. The only way to get rid of a reforged piece of equipment will be to "salvage" it.

You'll get some of it back. I haven't really decided how much. The bindings and special items will be lost at any rate.

I hope "salvage" means the equip returns to it's natural state as well, and not completely destroying it for materials (including being able to be traded/sold to bazaar.)

Although, if the latter were the case, that would sure be the quick and easy way to max out gear for people that get tons of rare equipment...

Salvaging will destroy the equipment piece. It's one of the trade-offs (well, the trade-off) for the higher drop rate for rare equipment.

Only upgraded equipment. It won't be an easy way to generate mats.

Crystallized Phazons sell for 1k compared to the 10k for the shade/kelvar/power armor mats. Not that I'd sell it though.

Let's say you have a Superior Phase Robe of Surtr.
To upgrade its EDB you need a Phazon and a Binding of Surtr
To upgrade its INT you need a Phazon and a Binding of the Fox
and so on.

Chaos Tokens will be for Monster skills and [CLASSIFIED INFORMATION]

So everyone will have perfect gear in a few weeks and then quit because there is nothing left to do?
It will very hard to increase one stat and will probably become very costly the closer you are to maxstats.


Gossamer will probably use low/mid/high grade Cloth depending on how close you are to maxstats.

You could seriously get enough Phazons and Bindings to max every single stat where each upgrade gives you 5% of the remaining distance to max (rounding up to the nearest 0.01 point) in a few weeks? You didn't seriously think I meant a flat bonus, right?XD

The original plan was indeed to require one "rare" component per stat-up for those kinds of equips, but since that would discourage upgrading anything but the most important stats, it will probably require a few of them for the initial reforge instead.

Any plans on making these items trade-able? Otherwise I'm stuck with a Repurposed Actuator I can't in any way use (since you can't sell reforged items).
