I think my pet Rincewind did his first kill around PL ~35ish
edit : not kill, rather battle won.
Also IIRC when i started playing HV in may, i didn't see any custom mobs until i hit level 25. Not sure if this is still the case.

Yeah ok. Just like SneakyGray mentioned in another thread (what did your monster bring) My monster also brought home loot with 0 wins and 0 kills.

To clarify things, is that first time only? Or they have brought you more presents? There's a big difference. Becuase my monster also brought me something at PL 0. Then it didn't bring me any present. This post has been edited by varst: Jul 12 2011, 16:02

When I made a new monster I got them to level 25-30. In that range they seem to get into the most battles. My 2 best killers are level 35 with a record of 1142/582 and 205 with 1498/534. So i'd get them to 25-30 range and leave them.

My 0:0 monster (Pl 8) only brought me one gift. nothing more. my 7:0 monster (PL51) hasn't brought me anything. Since the chance is 5% for a monster without wins since the last check, i just have baaad luck. QUOTE When I made a new monster I got them to level 25-30. Since I can't be absolutely certain if the gift my monsters brought with 0 win/kill. I'll post as soon as I know. (in an arena right now) I did make them after the patch. But still I think they'll come bearing gifts without wins. Will confirm soon as I know. I write down my monster progress every morning, so I check them at least once a day. Now I'll keep bothering my 0 kills until they give me something.

Monsters can bring gifts without getting any wins, but the odds are very low. (1%)
Monsters that were created before the patch would have brought a gift immediately as long as they had at least one win, since as far as the system was concerned, they didn't bring one since January 1st 1970.

Wouldn't this be abusable? Or did you make it so that kills by your own monsters don't count?

Do you have any plans for Mini Bosses, Bosses and above? Since they will appear rarely they will not get many wins > less loot. So upgrading would be a bad Idea.

If I had to guess, I'd say they would have a higher win to appearance ratio than normal mobs as a miniboss+ should have some additional power modifiers to make them worthy of the name... but mostly that the quality of the loot received would be adjusted to compensate for the lower appearance frequency.

Has it been confirmed that monsters could be upgraded to mini-bossa and above? it seems like a rumor to me.

Absorb is pathetically useless now that 99% of enemies in the game are custom, but the only classes strong enough to survive to actually use Skills all use physical attacks. If you are going to insert unique monsters at the end of an arena, why not have a unique drop, like with Trio? Also having the last enemies of the last arena drop nothing is pretty lame.
