By next year, everything in the bazaar will sell for 1 credit.

QUOTE(sushi0 @ Jul 10 2011, 19:37) Heh. After I've finally managed to complete four of the five legendary arenas on IWBTH, I get this nice little treat seeing all the arenas being reduced to a mere 100 rounds. I guess this is to be expected. Oh come on, you people whine about the arenas being too long and tedious, and now you whine about them being made shorter? QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Jul 10 2011, 19:49) Equipment bazaar values have been decreased greatly, again. Staffs by about 2/3, at least. I love how Tenboro tries to sneak shit like this by us, like we won't notice. And by love, I mean loathe. Yeah, I'd love you see you remember to document every single change during a six-week rewrite project.

Except you haven't commented on equipment price nerfing the past several times you've done it, due to the backlash you get from when you actually admit it. It has nothing to do with this particular change. Just your behavior in general. This post has been edited by hitokiri84: Jul 10 2011, 20:17

And when exactly was that? If you honestly don't think I realize that people would notice stuff like that, you're not that bright yourself, but making adjustments to the price factors for common staffs in order to discourage people from picking only that item at the Shrine for credit purposes isn't exactly a major change. It should be fairly obvious that I'm not afraid of getting a "backlash" for making balancing changes, especially when it comes to eliminating excessively easy farmable credits - every single one of which you've been complaining about, regardless of how ridiculous it was.

Awesome of course. Everything is awesome. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Jul 10 2011, 13:26) You have a conveniently selective memory. If you don't want credits to be "farmed," then don't make every feature in the game you have to pay for require a fortune.

You also have to look at this from a player's perspective. It's exactly because of it being long and tedious that not many players have even attempted to try those legendary arenas outside of normal. It's also because it's long and tedious that I made it one of my goals to complete every arena on the hardest difficulty possible before I retire from this game. You said you're a gamer yourself, so you should know the feeling that you get when you take down something mighty for the first time. I'm the same. As a player, there's no better sense of accomplishment that you can get. The longer and harder something is, the more satisfying the end result would be. It's like having a 1v1 match with the best Korean Starcraft player but since people whine and complain that he's too hard, you reduce the difficulty by arranging some random noob as the final boss. People whine that he's too easy. Same story here. The only difference is I'm not whining because you made it too easy, I'm "whining" because I'm one of the few players that was actually arsed enough to beat those arenas on IWBTH and you took away that sense of accomplishment. Now, anyone can beat those arenas. I'm pretty sure my grandma and her dog could clear those arenas on IWBTH now. If you really wanted to make it easier, you could have added those five arenas without touching the original five legendary arenas. I haven't tried all five of the modified "legendary" arenas yet, but EoD is already a joke. It's just a clone of Eve of Death and To Kill a God, it can't even be called a legendary arena anymore. But you probably don't care anyways considering this change will piss off at most 3 people. The majority of the players will still be fine and dandy and actually be happy that you made it so easy for them to "accomplish" the same thing.

The Change to EoD was pretty EEEEEEEEEEHHHHH!?!?! But I love what he did to EoT. Battles against 3 girls are much more fun then endless waves of 1 or 2. The only Challenge was to not fall asleep! I would like to see a vs 4 girls Arena above this (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) This post has been edited by Ichy: Jul 10 2011, 21:11

I'm only sad about the loss of credits, again. I thought we got more because we had to put up with the stamina/maze bullshittery. On the upside, I'm now glad I returned your staff and got my million back, Ichy, because it doesn't look like I'll be doing a lot more training in the near future. It doesn't help that after trading in about 40 artifacts in the last 3 days or so I only got about 4 E-drinks either. What I did get was 6 AP, even though my ability tree is complete. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Wasn't that shit supposed to be high on the list?

If you don't want credits to be "farmed," then don't make every feature in the game you have to pay for require a fortune. Don't speak up if you can't actually name occasions where I've tried to stealth-nerf credits. Seriously, there are many people who for whatever reason spend more time playing the game than I spend coding it, and it would be stupid to try to intentionally float stuff below the radar. Expensive trainings were added as a response to an overflow of credits, not the other way around. As for recent changes in the other direction, the GP ratio was changed to 1:10. Several trainings were made cheaper. Arenas were made free, and started giving you credits for re-clearing them. Those rewards were later increased. The grindfest limit was removed, although that unfortunately went a bit too far. I'm not seeing any credit given for those. And really, go make your own programming side-project. We'll see how careful you are about detailing every little meaningless change.

Okay, I can't say you're wrong on this one. Getting 50k credits from grindfest for a 14k energy drink maybe way too much. I tried grinding on heroic, it should give 20k for a energy drink now. Seems a bit more balanced. As for staffs, I agree that they may be selling way too much before. But why at the same time are all those other equipments get decreased in selling value?

That's because he didn't put player levels into account. It has always seemed ridiculous to me how a level 100 player can get the same amount of exp and credits as a level 300 player if they killed the same monsters and have the same EXP bonuses. You're supposed to be rewarded for leveling up, but I guess logic doesn't really apply all that much to HV.

I guess logic doesn't apply to the typical HV player :3
