I could find a use for 20,000 hath...

My guess? The roll for gaining Shield prof on a block is separate from the roll for armour prof, which also happens to have a chance of rolling on the Shield slot. Sometimes you're lucky enough to get both.

If this was the case, then he would have gained one of those proficiencies right after he evaded the attack from Manthra or after Scary Ghost missed the attack against him.

I just realized that if I had the patience and time I could actually level several times in one day right now. All the arenas and 3-4 decent IW's and I could be going 2 per day. If I used up every IW I could probably hit 3. I do not, however, have either the patience or the time.

I figured it out. When you gain shield prof on a block, it comes out in this order:

1 8 You gain 0.03 points of shield proficiency.
1 7 You block the attack from Mind Raper.

But when you gain armour (including shield) prof from a hit, it's the other way round:

1 10 Blue Hedgehog hits you for 164 crushing damage.
1 9 You gain 0.03 points of shield proficiency.

So that's two separate gains from two different attacks.

Yeah. I miss the Healer. Use spirit attack on the last round of an Item World for a chance at Spirit Elixirs with a Token of Healing -> Credits.
