I do not know what a youtube personality is. I rarely use youtube for anything. If it is those idiots who put themselves in their videos that are supposed to be about something else, I hate that.

If they turned themselves into an anime character, that would probably make them more palatable to me, as long as it's done well. (No guys using a girl anime character unless they can speak like a girl and I can't tell the difference).

I see two anime girls in those Nekkokissa videos but I don't know what they are supposed to be. I don't recognize the characters. Is that from some anime or game that I don't know the name of? Or is it a youtube personality? (Does it make a difference?)

Those ones you posted? Just people singing with an animeish avatar, and the avatar and people controling it are the character themselves. I think Greshnik has it right and it might be better to think of them as streamers with a CG body instead.

About them being girls, maybe some or most of the female avatars of them are true girls, but there seems to be males are going at it too so you never know :^)

I guess it depends on how you see it, for me it's the same no matter if they have an avatar or not since both end up doing the same things anyways so I get bored by both normal and v tuber variants.

There's been voice changers since forever tho so that's not a problem for any of them, and I guess it provides them a layer of protection against stalkers in case they get obsessed with their real identities too.

When I played videogames online some years back, people did sometimes ask if I was using a "sound board" or voice changer; I don't know if that's good or bad.

I usually use girl characters, so that skews people into thinking I am a girl. I try to avoid speaking because it causes problems whether they think I sound like a guy or a girl. I think I sound 100% like a guy, but you don't sound the same to yourself as to others, and I think going through a microphone makes my voice different. Some kind of rough ballpark would be cool. And how important is SSD for h@h? I got mostly SSDs but they got no space for h@h, so I'd be using HD. Using SSDs might make short work of them too.

I'm afraid have no idea, but I'm interested too. Maybe a hath baron will share their stats.
But I wouldn't worry too much about SSDs over HDDs. You'd be saving maybe a few milliseconds from disk read but since network latency will probably be around 60-80 milliseconds for an intracontinental connection it probably wouldn't even be noticeable.

I don't think you need more than 1.5tb~, someone may correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its 1 range per 250mb, and there's a maximum of 6000 ranges

I'm no hath baron, but for an indication of what a cheap server can do,

2tb HDD (sata) (and not used to full capacity), 1.86ghz 2 core / 4 thread, Intel ATOM N2800 server at 100mbs with full ranges based in France gets me 80~ hath a day and 120~/min hitrate. It's pretty low for h@h standards I think, won't get many dd levels, but its pretty good for a bit of extra credit income.

Location probably factors into it a huge deal, there's some regions where you can't even gain ranges I think
