On that topic, I'm still not 100% convinced that Hallowed/Demonic are even better for SG arenas. While they are certainly better for the three SG themselves, this difference is lessened if you use Imperil and/or a lot of skills like Vital Strike (1H), Frenzy Blows (DW), or OFC.

Meanwhile, Hallowed/Demonic are the worst elements for the generic monsters if you use Imperil. And overall, I cannot say what the balance of importance is between SG and generic monsters is because it depends on how you play the SG arena.

Also, more investigation needs to be done with Tempestuous because wind is the best for killing Konata. And holy/dark is just as bad against Konata as cold/elec/fire....which actually means that cold/elec/fire would be much better than holy/dark against Konata especially if you use Imperil.

And depending how you play, Konata can be the most important SG to consider because she is the one you are going to want to beat down normally, and save your skills for the bigger SGs.

It is a complicated relationship that is not too different between elements in the end, is the best thing I can say.

Yes for SG arena. I used fire infusion in the past, and after switch to dark i got some improvements in dmg and turn count.
I'm using arctic rapier and flame spike shield.

dark always had more dmg comparing to cold, and cold always was better comparing to fire(due to spike shield ofc).

Yeah, every stat on an item contributes to its pxp, although the weights vary. The reason why Arcanist is so high is because it adds more than anything else, and PAB rolls are apparently pretty high weights.

Katalox staffs can be 368 PXP which I think is the lowest. Not all kataloxes are - Focus suffix is 371, for example.

Then when a24711255 did bid 50m, Skirt With Legs says "just kidding!" and stomp him down with just under 100m bid to again tempt with "if you dare to bid 100m you will win this item."

I have used this strategy for materials before, but not with the same intention. Instead, more for long term pricing influence since materials relist weekly.

I'm imagining an interesting scenario, like this : one bets above 100m, the other relaunch to 149m and gets it. Soon after, the winner drops a double ... (he he he, Snowflake's joke (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ).
What to do now ... he auctions it, and his former adversary (being the only heavy bidder now) gets it for 1m.

I wouldn't quite call that pure collecting because those are commonly thought to be the most useful melee weapons in the game. Having 6 might be redundant, but having 2 or 3 has use because demonic/hallowed are inferior to fiery/arctic/tempestuous/shocking if using a full imperil style against regular monsters.

I can make an argument that each of those prefixes is possibly the best (keep in mind not by much) except for shocking.

If you don't use infusions, then owning all 6 element rapiers of identical quality would allow you to use a different one corresponding to each element of the day. You might save money after a zillion years.

Petal_Kiss doesn't have tempestuous yet. I don't know if he has peerless ethereal but I pray he doesn't want, because I still do. Please don't step on me. I might also still bid on arctic.

I appears I dodged a bullet last week. Maybe Mantra64 wanted a peerless hallowed in particular to match with his Stars Light. For laughs, Stars Light originally sold for 7.5m and I think a peerless hallowed rapier of slaughter also sold for around that much in one of the first auctions a long time ago.

What is the lowest possible tower ranking that confers benefits? I can probably crack the top 500 by virtue of just trying harder than other casuals, but the top 100 will be a challenge for me.
