Anyway, changed things quite a lot, since Monday and most of Tuesday i won't be available at all.
Updated plan and prizes and... let's see how it goes.

So. Avatar Beauty Pageant #1 is over. Not much participation but oh well.
From the two parts, on the first i narrowed it down to Noni and PrincessKaguya and after some time of indecisiveness on who to pick among the two, i flipped a coin and "tails" decided that PrincessKaguya you be the first winner.
On the second part i narrowed it down to six and was about to roll a dice, but decided to narrow it it down even further. After a bit two remained standing: Basara Nekki and Rhydin and a coin flip of heads decided that Basara Nekki would be the winner.

Cool.
Now i just need to find a judge for the second pageant...

So... I had quite the hard time on this and i'll admit my shame, by openly telling you all that after narrowing down the choices to my most liked ones i couldn't decide on a winner, so i flipped a coin. Hey don't judge me (too hard). You will also get old and indecisive one day.

No perfect anime girl drawn by a competent artist is going to rank below any other. Maybe people don't feel like changing their avatar from something that actually reflects their personalities. At least when the qualifier to win was ''Have a Touhou avatar', the field of tuhu fanart was wide enough that you could still use literally anything.

Some Players participate Events for Fun, but most Players participate the Events for Profits.
About the last two Events of DJNoni,
Write a Poem of English isn't easy, especially for many Players who don't use English in their daily Life. Regarding the Reward, for those Players, using the same Energy to play HV self makes more Profit.
The funny Monster Name Event is also hard, considering the Cultural Difference, the Limit of Charachters, the Chance to get Reward and so on.
Epion's Event is much easier.
Also thinking about the Birthday Event of NekoHime27, only 3 Players participate the Drawing Part.

Well, I don't criticise any of them above. I participated and all of them, because I'm the Style who cares about Fun more than Profit at least in HV myself. I really enjoy those Events and am thankful.

Guys and animals (or even inanimate objects) can enter too haha. I cannot tell if Nezu is a boy or a girl, but he has a good chance to win if he enters this week.

Not sure if there is such a thing as a conventionally beautiful anime girl, most look pretty different to me and I have a high preference for specific artists encompassing various genres of anime girl. Even if girls look similar, clothing (or lack thereof) may make the difference.

I wonder if this contest should take into account whether someone changes their avatar or uses their normal one? I think a lot of the fun in this is to nominate other people, that way they might be unaware and not change their avatar. Some users like Honeycat might be creeped out but that's what makes me laugh the most haha!

I for one, I'm planning to change my avatar to enter the event (since mine hasn't been well received previously).

That's a double-edge knife, thou', since the judge of the competition will change; Epion has surely decided to search another judge just for this purpose, so that noone can use previous knowledge from the first part to try to guess his tastes.

The previously losing avatar that you change now, could well be the one which would have make you win in the second part of the event !

Hopefully this week will get more participants in the beauty pageant before it ends. If there are too few participants it's not as fun.

Maybe in the future, people who do contests could have the prize pool increase with the number of participants (up to a stated maximum). Instead of a 1 million prize, it could be 50k times the number of entrants. If I have time, maybe I will try to host a contest at some point (right now I'm too inactive).

Problem ere is not pool size, imho. Rather that he did it in his old shop thread, which hasn't been pinned.
This makes for poor visibility, especially when it slips down the page for lack of posts, which makes it less visible, which makes it receive less posts, which makes it less visible, which makes it .... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Instead of only one grand prize, the purse should be divided among the top 3-5. Otherwise it feels too improbable to win & people are less likely to bother. If it's too hard to rank them, it can just be an even split among the top 3-5. Most successful events have had more prize slots.
