An example of the 1 HP Spark Death.

Basically a bunch of attacks bring you down to exactly 1 HP and then you get hit by another attack and just died because Spark doesn't work if you have exactly 1 HP.

Ohhh I get it and according to the example it seems I've experienced it a few times while climbing the tower at different points. In fact my latest attempt ended early due to this...twice and here I was thinking the monsters were so fast now that their action speed was bypassing the Spark activation. I guess the reason it happened twice in a row is because everything hits in spirit shield range so all attacks are capped to the same number and my max HP happens to be just enough for it to be 1HP after getting hit X number of times. Will keep an eye out for this but I'll meddle with my HP stat just in case, thanks!

Yeah, mages use a mixture (because proficiency is on cotton but not phase, and there are soft- and hard-caps to hit on that). Specifically they like 'charged cotton x of the elementalist/demon-fiend/heaven-sent' but the prices vary wildly depending on slot. At lower levels, magnificent charged or legendary non-charged can be interesting to buyers also, but infrequently so it can be a long wait.

Some people collect Reinforced Leather of Protection, or Shielding Plate of Protection, but there's not really a major use case for those above level 300 once levelling slows down and survival becomes easier on PFUDOR. (For what it's worth, I'm using a Reinforced Leather breastplate on Isekai, at rank 8 in the Tower - floor 88.) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

And I'm using a Peerless Shielding Plate Gauntlet in my 1H-Power , because my power armor are only forged 5 and Shield Block only 13, and I still feel insicure and needing protection (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

But despite my level I still feel I'm a noob, so all this essentially doesn't count (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Uh... depends on your perspective.

There are a few reasons to do isekai, depending on how much time you have available and what you want to do.

The pure isekai stuff:

1) Isekai has the only real 'competitive' mode in HV - the Tower - although buying materials with persistent credits means the rich still have a significant advantage
2) There's a permanent reward of 1, 2 or 3 to each PAB depending on how well you rank in the Tower
3) There's also a temporary damage bonus for persistent that lasts a season's duration afterwards, depending on what floor you reached

Economic stuff:

4) Selling materials for persistent credits can be quite lucrative
5) Isekai has its own stamina, so you can play more without spending energy drinks
6) You can also sell trophies, equipment, etc

And finally, access to something that most people don't have...

7) On isekai, everyone has Follower of Snowflake active, and if you do daily arenas, there's enough trophy drops to get 2 peerless vouchers per season

Every time I start it, I go to where I start meeting multiple mini-bosses and it just takes so much time to grind through their HP that I just give up. I can easily play 300+ rounds of Grindfest instead and it just doesn't seem to be worth the time it takes.

'worth' is personal - yeah, it's optimal to play it on PF, but only if it doesn't cost your sanity (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Depending on how long it's taking you, we might be able to offer advice to speed it up, in Ask the Experts. Beginner mages can do it in around 20 minutes usually, and skilled melee players can get around 25-30 minutes without too much trouble.

So, i have been thinking... i have a few million credits aside, back from when i was still playing, (a few means a few... i'm no hath baron or anything), and it's not like i'm ever gonna use them, so i was pondering about bringing back my old "quiz time"...
Now... i know that the last 3 times, the riddles were so hard that we had no winners, so i'm having a hard time to make something that is still hard, at everyone's range and still possible to solve, hence it might take a while, (plus i'm not the smartest chocobo in the herd), but while i'm getting there i would like two opinions.
1) In the past, when we had no winners i would pick the "nice, but still wrong" replies and the ones that sent them would get a consolation prize of an Energy Drink. Now, from what i see in the sales department, EDs are no longer as valuable as they used to be back in the day, so i was considering the idea of "nobody won? we roll for the winner".
Pretty much, if the question was "what color you can make by mixing white and red" and EVERYBODY replied "7"... then we grab the names of all these people and get a random roll and the winner still get's the prize.
This sounds like... a horrible idea to me... but in case i make unsolvable riddles again we still get winners... Ideas?
2) In case that we have multiple winners... do you think it's better to split the prize, or randomize the winner among the ones with the correct answer?

1) Perhaps a consolation prize of One Phazon. That would be more then enough for a wrong (but otherwise intersting and/or funny) answer. Level of interestingness/funnyness decided by the contest host (i.e. you).

2) Multiple winner == the capital is split. This is better, I think, because an easy answer will have multiple winners, while a hard answer few or just one (or none). So the harder question is rewarded more, and the easier less, quite automatically. Seems way more fair to me (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
