The point is that, like many times said by all of you "old people", this game is a marathon not a 100-meters rush; aka it takes time.

Now, when you have spent the time to run half or three quarters of the marathon, the game organizer comes out abruptly saying some rules will change (not much details on when and which). Do you blame the athletes for being a trifle annoyed and speaking up ?

Then here comes the referees telling them "Don't speculate, you're annoying, stop whining and keep running ... " etc. etc. and "Dude, you can just quit, we dont give a dam" ... ohh, great.
And then all the athletes say in a silent chorus "f*+k you" (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Well, firstly - we've waited for three years. All we could do all this time was talking about it. I see no reason why the hell we can not do it now. Secondly - how about we decide what to do until we'll see the update without any smartass suggestions?

I mean it sucks that the rules are going to change. I've been collecting gear and trying to save/earn money and saving soul shards for 3 months just to get a basic fire mage setup going, when I saw Tenboro's post about the new version here. And then I basically put everything on pause. Had I caught up on this thread as little as two days later I would have soulbound my gear and started spending every credit to my name on upgrades. So I actually feel both lucky (because I didn't spend on upgrades yet) and aggrieved (because I've spent a lot of time and effort finding rare gear that might be worthless soon).

So then I decided to just mess with Itemworlding my stuff, the worst that can happen is I have to Reforge it, but the most likely case is it does no harm. And then the Capitol was attacked and it hasn't felt important to play at all any more. At least until after the update.

I think I / we need perspective, which the Capitol thing gave me. The game is pretty stale. My main motivation for going fire mage is to reduce the amount of time I'm spending on it. So either nothing really changes with the new version and I go ahead with my fire mage, or the game does really change and its less stale, at least for a while. Seems like a win-win to me.

What you're framing as 'speaking up' is not really going to help anything; nonetheless, I'll acknowledge that you're venting worries.

Nobody is going to be hurt by the update (well, except people who were hoarding stocking stuffers to speculate on their value, and people who still use some illegal scripts). Whether you personally gain much from it depends on how much you enjoy actually playing HV, I guess, so if having a pile of shinies is all that matters for you, I think almost any patch is going to be either underwhelming or aggravating for you.

I assure you I am just as invested as you and anyone else (likely moreso; how many others have grinded for 600 prof?), but I am excited for this one, and I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with it. Not to get anyone's hopes up too much - since I'm sure everyone has their own personal criteria for what they want to see, and will be sour if they don't get exactly that - but I hope everyone likes it as much as I do. Tenboro's done a nice job and the future looks promising from where I stand.

I think if you choose to be positive about things, you will be a lot happier for it, and I hope that the assurance nobody is losing anything or being made worse will make the prospect of change a little less fearful.

You are safe to continue as you are, but if you want to wait to feel safer about it, it should be pretty soon. I don't have any privileged info on that (release time), by the way - only that Tenboro mentioned in this thread earlier that HV live moved onto the new frontends, and since we were mostly just waiting for the host to set those up...

Don't know what you mean exactly, but just to be clear, I don't think any moderation actions have been needed, so no posts have disappeared or anything.

If you're just using the general forum search, the HV sections (among some others) are omitted unless you search them specifically, due to volume and not much relevance to the site's main focus (I think).

She won't accept the MM, so you should be able to recall them, yeah.

Attachments are technically held in a system account in between sending. The MM system shouldn't care about normal trade restrictions - the validation will be at the point of attachment - but I don't think it's worth risking it anyway.

I'm older, i use 1.2.1.1 that do exactly what i want the way i want, i don't like some things of the version after that... i think i'm screwed.

Not that I think any of you are actually using the illegal features, since they were more like... it allowed something against the rules to be performed, but it wasn't discovered til more recently.

I wish I had been able to get good weapons I have wanted for a long time before the change, like Peerless Axe or Shortsword (or Rapier) etc. But well I've been trying for over a year and I didn't really get any of those. I think a few dropped but not enough went for sale.
