Clo01 went for a fair amount of credits. I don't know how much you wanted for your items but to me it feels like you shot yourself in the foot. You can't predict how much an item will go for in an auction there's too many variables involved. However what is certain now is the animosity of a few players toward you and you won't seem trustworthy. Well this was a dick move but recalling your times right when the auction ended was worse. I've seen items recalled before but they were recalled with one or two days before the auction ended. Never like this. I don't think it was worth it tbh. Sometimes your reputation is worth more than a few million credits.

QUOTE(Arkoniusx @ Oct 24 2020, 15:21) Look, seriously, I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DO WHAT I'M GOING TO DO, but I have no choice.
The one who is buying this has much more credits than I do, so he will be able to buy similar equipment at some other time, in my case I will no longer be able to buy anything.
Laughable and immature thought, just thank god that this is merely a game, not some real life. I hope you read every single detail in the future before you enter any sort of purchase and sale agreement before signing your life away. What happened to me is unfortunate, I don't really care anyways, but I do hope this incident would improve any future auction, thus prevent it can be happening again to other.

Still figuring out all of the different Auction houses with HV but a couple of points from years of MMO and AH Experience I'm actually surprised that the AH you are using doesn't lock auctions. Like 6 hours after the Auction goes live it can no longer be canceled. Honestly locked auctions help the seller sometimes too. You never know what will happen at the end. I'm guessing that the 3rd party AH sites are more competitive with each other for clients. So they are scared to anger users. The smart business move for those sites is to actually work together on these types of things. Small business groups have a decent success rate. Basically to join the group you have to agree to enforce rules that the group makes. It would also give them enforcement over smaller AH's who want to be a part of it. Arkoniusx you have other options. You choose this auction. So you are the most at fault.. If this was a game software company who controlled the only way to sell items. I could understand your anger. I still would not support someone who agrees to the rules beforehand and then breaks them. My 8 year old nephew does that. He's 8 and doesn't understand that he is not the victim. I'm sure as an adult he will understand personal accountability. In my experience the video game community as a whole struggles with it. Just some human to human advice Arkoniusx. Why do you feel the need to discuss it? I didn't know anything about this and never would have. You made it a point on a public forum. If you really believe you are in the right, Why do you care what other people think? If you had just taken it down without bringing the topic to a public post. Very few people would have known. Now, its available to anyone like me. Honestly, It just makes you look bad. I've been there. I was a guild leader in Wow for 8 years. My first year i defended my decisions constantly. It never made people happy. When i stopped defending myself. People stopped second guessing me. There is a reason lawyers tell people not to talk about circumstances. If i make a mistake, I own it. Then disappear for a bit. So people can settle down. I'm actually against buying weapons and armor personally. I started using HVmarket to buy mats today and it's been great. I need a lot of mats. I resisted it at first but I pretty much had to do it. As everyone knows on this forum. I picked HVMarket because they only do mats. My plan was to not sell anything. Then i needed 150k credits. I've already made more credits selling mats in one day than I feel comfortable with. It can be addicting. Let me be the first to say I might be wrong. I really don't know much about you or this topic. It doesn't even make me mad. I expect certain behavior online. If you disagree or dislike what i said...that's fine. I didn't post this because I care. I posted it because you brought it to a public forum. Giving unwanted opinions at public forums is an American tradition that I support. lol I will read into the 3rd party auctions in HV. I have yet to form an opinion due to lack of knowledge. I like free markets generally. Having a small amount of oversight is required typically. Maybe Twilight Sparkle can police it lol. I doubt this in an outlier problem. I would bet a lot of people back out on auctions. They just stay off the forums afterwards lol. Thank you for giving me something to entertain myself with. I have been snowed into my house all day. Normally I wouldn't use an essay format to say. "You are in the wrong for canceling it." (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Arkoniusx shouldn't have done that, but let me play the devil's advocate here. At the moment, there is no rule against shill bidding on Super's auction. In fact some players are cycling and bidding on their own materials week after week; this has been going on for months. Superlatanium is aware of it and did nothing.
All Arkoniusx had to do, was shill bid 500m on his own items to get them back. I think he deserves any punishment he gets, but let's also consider how we currently treat shill bidding and the reselling of materials when the auctions have no selling fee.
I am not fully opposed to the reselling of materials, and I do it myself from time to time (in moderation, as I try to only buy what I need). However I think these issues should be thought over.

I doubt this in an outlier problem. I would bet a lot of people back out on auctions.
There are two reasons that may be why Superlatanium doesn't take items out of the mails until the auction is complete. One is that he simply doesn't have the storage space to hold an arbitrary amount of equipments at any given time (equip inventory is limited to 1000, plus up to 1000 more in storage if you have perks). The other is accountability & seller protection: in some cases, he makes small mistakes and this gives the seller the opportunity to withdraw just in case he doesn't catch it in time. This was the case in this auction, (see Clo01) where 高垣 楓 requested a start bid, but Super didn't see it. I 'won' the item, but at a lower price than 高垣 楓's intended minimum. By the way - this actually doesn't happen often. In fact, I don't even remember the last time it did happen - the HV community is very small, and people are generally wary about setting fire to their reputation. There's a very good case study you can look at for how reputation hurts... Years ago, a big shopkeeper accidentally sent qdjseh001 an order that was meant for someone else, without CoD. He chose to keep these items, claiming he felt it was a gift he deserved for being a regular customer. It ignited a huge feud with the Taiwanese shopkeepers, and now he's banned from many, many shops, and he keeps up a long ban list against all those who banned him for the same reason. This happened a long time ago, and you can now see the damage in this thread. Something noteworthy is that many of the players he has listed in the bans are or were wealthy, active players. A savvy reader will notice that qdjseh has many, many highly valuable equipments in his shop - tons of charged and radiant mage gears - that he can't sell. One could argue that it's due to his outrageous prices (and by far and large most of the prices there are outdated or straight up delusional), but there's a second effect in play: many of the wealthiest players in the game will have nothing to do with him. Reputation may not matter much to a low level player who doesn't have much to sell, but it can stay with you for a very long time in HV, with a community of probably only 100-200 active players, and maybe a greater playerbase of around 1,000 users who occasionally buy, sell, or participate in lotteries.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Average damage is about 96.6% of what HOH+robe achieves in perfect circumstances, although CR plays a role in consistency too, so it's probably a little worse than that in actual turn counts (afraid I haven't been able to finish my real-world tests on this yet).

QUOTE(DJNoni @ Oct 31 2020, 10:48) Okay I've managed to run Monsterbation and HVUtils on android again, using the expanded extention support in firefox nightly: [ blog.mozilla.org] https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2020/09/29/...ndroid-nightly/Works like a charm! Thanks VawX! Nightly bugs with HV for me. It clicks on the first submenu for every of the top menus of HV. I'm not even counting the tap area of the links that is ridiculously small and impractical, since it was already the case in regular Firefox. The Firefox browser suite is utter shit on Android, seriously. Between a laggy, buggy, sketchy browser (Firefox), and one that works but doesn't support extensions (Chrome), Android users really have it rough.

Is anyone having problems with crashes while playing (both on the main site and alt)? I've been having this problem all day. And it's just in the game. The forum, galleries and wiki are normal, as well as everything else I access on the internet (e.g. YouTube). During the crash, I do the ping test and always report "Request timed out". A few seconds later it returns to normal. I hope this problem does not persist for long. This is already getting annoying. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

This is on alt by the way, main is just too laggy for me no matter the time of day. If it was server side maybe it already got fixed? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) But today was really bad. Even a simple RE crashed. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) And in all cases, I would either wait a few seconds, or I would reload the page.

I hadn't tested them against each other for a while, but at DD9 with almost 600 depr prof (soon™), my curseweaver shoes are finally performing definitively worse (about 70-80 turns average) than standard phase shoes in fests. The last tests I did were at DD7 with lower base prof, and it was performing mostly equally, very slightly favouring the curseweaver. I'm a little disappointed. The bad news is this means now I should be switching to elementalist shoes instead, but that's expensive. Also, I don't have a pair of charged/radiant gloves at all, and I only really want a high-end radiant pair now (so I can give non-imperil elemental some fair tests). Anyone happen to have a pair of radiant mjolnir gloves with 80%+ EDB and decent PAB rolls?... no? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) The good news is I can retire the curseweaver shoes completely now, salvage them, and prepare to invest in a different test (how much of an upgrade my radiant heimdall robe is over my mystic one).

The past ~24 hours I've been unable to connect to alt at all (and main is still too laggy). Is this a general problem? (Sorry if it's been discussed; searching for "alt" isn't too helpful.)

Hmm... With the price increase, the bitcoin dust I have left from buying a gold star 5 years ago is now worth $48.72. And the first $20 donation I made in 2015.02 would be worth $1168.
So if I sit on the dust, and *if* BTC goes up by the same amount over the next 5 years, by then the dust alone would be worth $2845. Free Catgirl aura? I'll let you know in 5 years.
IIRC this is due to Void_Domain being nice to me. Void had a little bit extra left, and just gave me the extra 79 cents worth on top of the last transaction.

HV has been very slow for me lately, anyone else experiencing this?
Edit: Nevermind, seems like the issue resolved itself.
