I think it would be worth updating the wiki that the listed Shield Bash multiplier of 1 is wrong. I didn't test exactly but as far as I can tell Shield Bash does the same damage as normal Vital Strike, so it should have a multiplier of 2.5 as well. I did take into account that Shield Bash does crushing damage, though it's not a huge difference when considering that random damage variance in this game is high (about 1~1.5 range for everything).

Base Skill Damage = Physical_Attack_Base_Damage * Skill_Multiplier * Overcharge %?* 0.02

I haven't strictly analyzed and double-checked this formula, but if considering this formula then the multiplier for Shield Bash should formally be 5, because it costs really cheap Overcharge.

mega-wifeacc discovered this a little while ago but we couldn't find a consistent modifier for it. By the way, the random range is ~0.8-1.2 (this is noted in the wiki for spell damage, but apparently not physical damage).

Even if you aren't sure what the modifier is, it's probably better to write 1? or 2.5? or 5? rather than 1 (for sure). By the way, what's the multiplier (if any) for a plain regular attack?

I'm trying to do some random checks. No spirit stance. No penetrated armor.

CODE
Vital Strike hits Venomsnake (human) for 15095 void damage (overwhelming active)
Shield Bash hits Venomsnake (human) for 14608 crushing damage (overwhelming active)

Void Strike hits Venomsnake (human) for 2374 void damage. (overwhelming active)
Dark Strike hits Venomsnake (human) for 1116 dark damage. (overwhelming active)
You hit Venomsnake (human) for 3693 void damage. (overwhelming active)

Vital Strike crits Toliman (human) for 23918 void damage (overwhelming active)
Shield Bash hits Toliman (human) for 19889 crushing damage (overwhelming active)

Void Strike hits Toliman (human) for 2357 void damage. (overwhelming active)
Dark Strike hits Toliman (human) for 1346 dark damage. (overwhelming active)
You crit Toliman (human) for 7421 void damage. (overwhelming active)

Vital Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 15909 void damage (overwhelming active)
Shield Bash hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 14124 crushing damage (overwhelming active)

Void Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 1949 void damage. (overwhelming active)
Dark Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 856 dark damage. (overwhelming active)
You hit Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 3410 void damage. (overwhelming active)

Void Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 2151 void damage. (overwhelming active)
Dark Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 702 dark damage. (overwhelming active)
You hit Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 3450 void damage. (overwhelming active)

Void Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 2030 void damage. (overwhelming active)
Dark Strike hits Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 826 dark damage. (overwhelming active)
You hit Peerless Savage Power (mech) for 3572 void damage. (overwhelming active)

There is a lot of randomness so it is hard to be sure (1.5 randomness factor on two things means any given comparison could be off by a factor of 2) but this small sample of data reinforces what I've thought for a while. The "standard" 2.5 damage multiplier of most skills should really be 4.

So if your multiplier for a generic attack is 1, then the multiplier for Vital Strike or Shield Bash should be 4. And likewise every other skill or spell in the game may need to be adjusted.

You are measuring against different monsters which have hugely varying physical mitigation. Please use schoolgirls if you're going to take data for this.

The proper way to do this is with school girls, which I might eventually do later. But there's enough data above to compare each generic monster with itself once or twice. I think it's enough to convince me the multipliers are wrong in some way (which could be fixed by assigning a multiplier to the basic attack), just not what the multipliers exactly should be (though it looks like 4 right now).

Vital Strike's multiplier against a non-stunned enemy is most likely 1.
The wiki is probably wrong with the 2.5 so that's what might be confusing you.

Shield Bash seems to have a multiplier of 1 also (hence why you think it's the same as Vital Strike) but since it's crushing damage unlike the other skills it's harder to be sure of it.

In fact several of the multipliers in the wiki are probably wrong. They might have been right at some point and some version. You can go and make a good sample size of tests to confirm my findings so that the correct numbers are updated (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

edit: oh yeah and I'm not sure what that formula in the wiki is all about, it might just be wrong or outdated. You can try and make sense of it if you want to, I couldn't

So I actually managed to find two more tradeable panties at a higher level.

Peerless Savage Power Leggings of Warding (level 480, owned by hentai_fusion)
Peerless Savage Power Leggings of Warding (level 479, owned by Basara_Nekki)

I was wondering if I should trade my Peerless Savage Power Leggings of Warding (level 281) with one of theirs. I have 12000+ soul fragments so it doesn't matter to me, and the remaining panties could (theoretically) be borrowed or resold among lower level players. On the other hand, at level 480 this could be used by level 500 players without soulfuse. If these will all inevitably end up soulfused (or unused) I might as well keep mine.

What do other people think? Should we trade? Do you want to trade, Basara?

P.S. - Didn't Basara drop Uncle's Peerless Savage Power Boots of Warding too? Does Uncle Stu already have a Peerless Savage Power Leggings, or would he want one of these?

I have only this Peerless Savage. The rest of the Savage Warding set is Legendary. The equipment links are in my signature.

Someday I intend to do the IW of this set, and then soulfuse and upgrade. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) But it will take time because it will be expensive, and I've been a little poor lately. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Why don't you try to buy DCFulano's Peerless Savage Power Boots of Warding for 5m?

I mixed Basara_Nekki up with DCFulano. I have actually done this before. There is something similar about you two in my mind and I have no explanation. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Uncle's equipment is listed there too, however he has changed most of his clothes by now. He has Peerless Savage Power Helmet of Warding and Boots. I don't know the rest. He might want one of these Peerless Savage Power Leggings of Warding too. That's all 3, so I guess I should soulfuse my own.

Not really, they're just worse artifacts.
You can keep 1 each if you want to collect them though.

But remember also to shrine 1 each to get the reward on the 14th.
Those will be worth 1.5m~ credits if you sell them.
