Mystic prefix gives around a third the radiant bonus, which is still pretty significant.
It's less consistent though.

Annihilator is also better than archmage for non-destruction staves.

So am I. You got a really nice deal... do people really think mystic is that bad? The only thing that will be better than those shoes is a very strong radiant legendary, or peerless radiant...

Peerless Mystic is undervalued and fairly good, but it is still worse than a nice Legendary Radiant.

Its firepower is worse than my shoes

If it were Pants, I would bought it... at 80m.

Annihilator is a little better than archmage for destruction staves too, in terms of a magic-score.

But as you said, 'crit' is less consistent...

Right, I think I added the CP value two times when I calculated by hand (I definitely should install HVUtils at work (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) )

And yeah, above average radiants are better, but they don't go for less than 40M (probably more, but I guess shoes are cheaper in general?) and require nearly 5M worth of additional materials (since you need to forge MDB) if you stop at forge level 50.

i still consider the blind trust in the exasperation of stats given by percentile script one of the biggest causes of market finickiness.

if one doesn't realize the difference between, saying, a 100 and a 70% ADB roll is only bragging rights and doesn't really mean so much in everyday's gameplay, he deserves to pay a bunch of millions more.

It depends, for Ring of Blood and partially for schoolgirl arenas magic score is a better metric than MDB*EDB.
For imperil arena play MDB*EDB is way better, for no imperil probably a mix of the two would be ideal.
For PFUDORFest unless you factor in cast speed they are both bad metrics.

HV has very little actual penetration, even with 5 levels of penetrator on your hard wooden rod of destruction. So there's no risk, just roleplay along and play as Lbgti-friendly mage! Why? DWD at pfudor under 10 min. Saves you 10 minutes per day to actually talk to a person of the sex you're interested in.
