Recently I got the Extra Strength Formula hath perk - Happy Pills are twice as effective at improving monster morale and now I can't pill my monsters. The bars are draining and they're bringing me shit gifts.
How far down are the bars going to go empty before I can refill them and will it take more than one Happy Pill per bar? This is making me nervous.

A completely empty bar is two pills, so halfway is one pill. You should be able to drug them individually at the halfway point (one pill). I think the Drug All Monsters option becomes available when the morale bar is three quarters empty.

Oh, OK. They're not quite at the halfway point. But seriously, if you don't like seeing your mon-mons with nothing but nice pilled-up green bars then this perk isn't for you. Wish I never got it. Would be good for people who don't come to the site often and can't pill them regularly. This post has been edited by Honeycat: Jan 30 2020, 03:05

The gift penalty comes when the bar is yellow, that is exactly when you can use the pill. If you can't use the pill, the morale is high enough to not penalize gifts at all (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Metabolism & inspiration trainings look awesome. They reduce both feeding cost & frequency.

But gifts don't accumulate indefinitely; if you're going so long between visits that you can't keep their morale up, that means you're not collecting them either, and in that case... their morale means nothing until you come back again (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE(Dead-ed @ Jan 30 2020, 06:15) Metabolism & inspiration trainings look awesome. Think about how much monster food you could buy for the cost of even the first level... hmmm... This post has been edited by lestion: Jan 30 2020, 12:48

I just looked at hv utils that i never used. No wonder. Glad that i haven't wasted anything into them yet. Tenboro's efforts for balancing credits generation got wasted by scripts. Wahahahahaaaa.

You don't even need to know the cost of training them to the max (by the way that info is on the wiki). It's just basic maths... The first level of Metabolism costs 1,000,000. The most expensive monster food is cuisine which can be bought in large quantities for around 7c (but let's rank it up to the absurd price of 10c, because maybe you want to buy so much, the supply dries up & prices raise...). That 1m credits could buy 100,000 monster cuisine. Monsters eat ~2 food per day each (according to the wiki - my personal lab feels like less). This means it's around 400 per day for a full lab (the same 400 regardless of whether you're a GS user with 200 or a free user with 100, because GS halves hunger rate...). So that means 100,000/400=250 days worth of food from that 1mil, so that's the break even point, right? Wrong, you're still going to be buying food, because it only reduces hunger, not eliminates it. You'll still need 95,000 of those cuisines to last the same duration. Now to work out what metabolism would save... if it reduces hunger by 5%, that's 20 less food a day, right? So 20*10 credits saved per day... oh dear, that's only 200 credits. It would take 5,000 days to pay off. Almost 14 years. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) And this is the FIRST level of it, while assuming food is much more expensive than reality... with the accurate food prices, it's actually closer to 20 years. (But maybe food will cost a lot more after the apocalypse happens and you're the only one left feeding your monsters...) By the way, all levels of it should pay off in about 93 years (cumulative cost 47.8m, saving 200*7=1400c per day...) This post has been edited by lestion: Jan 30 2020, 14:49

Request for data: has anyone ever had an exquisite from Stocking Stuffers? Or can they be confirmed to be minimum magnificent (if you have >100 shrined, this would be very useful).
Digging through some old release notes & there's a note that PFUDOR DWD is tier 7, not tier 8 as stated on the wiki.
But tier 7 is currently noted to be exquisite minimum. This is probably because in 0.82, trophy tiers were explicitly stated to be exquisite at T6, magnificent at T7 - but then in 0.83 a new T7 was inserted, bumping up the old ones by one. The minimum quality for this tier was never stated, but I believe it was assumed at the time to be exquisite because it probably seemed like having more tiers that produced magnificent than tiers that produced exquisite would've been odd...
Anyway, the tl;dr is I believe T7 is magnificent minimum, and I'll be correcting this and the quality point for DWD as soon as this is acceptably supported with data. (No point bothering the bossman when we can reasonably answer these questions ourselves...)
edit: all data I've received so far implies it, so I'm going to change it. I'll just revert if anyone disproves

I still can't pill my mon-mons, it's taking so long to get to the halfway mark. This is torturous I tell you, simply torturous. (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/PYnnGbv.gif)

(IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/PYnnGbv.gif) Twilight Spargle would say: patience, Pinky, good thinks come to those who wait But what Pinky actually would do is - install HV Utils, and use the feed & pills features whenever Pinky feels like it. The script will prevent you from wasting food or pills. And then keep bashing those buttons!

QUOTE [Clo01] Peerless Mystic Phase Shoes of Heimdall (500, IW 10, forged 50, Holy EDB 98%) (seller: rjgc. Start: 45m) Sapo84 56.65m Proxy bid after #76; winning for 47.5h / 47.5h; -0.3% QUOTE Your max bids: [Clo01] [55,000k] [Jan 30 2020, 14:30] [Clo01] [56,700k] [Jan 30 2020, 14:31] (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I realized that adding the minimum bid increment to my first bid would actually trick people in thinking I had a higher bid. Maybe it wouldn't have changed anything but I'm still glad it worked fine in the end. I'm also surprised I wasn't outbid considering that there are nearly 45M worth of materials/IW there.

Take a plain phase. Remove mitigation. Here's mystic. Mystic prefix gives around a third the radiant bonus, which is still pretty significant. It's less consistent though. Annihilator is also better than archmage for non-destruction staves. There are 33m worth of materials (with my mat prices) QUOTE(lestion @ Feb 1 2020, 23:28) So am I. You got a really nice deal... do people really think mystic is that bad? The only thing that will be better than those shoes is a very strong radiant legendary, or peerless radiant...
Peerless Mystic is undervalued and fairly good, but it is still worse than a nice Legendary Radiant. Its firepower is worse than my shoesIf it were Pants, I would bought it... at 80m. QUOTE(Sapo84 @ Feb 2 2020, 00:09) Annihilator is also better than archmage for non-destruction staves.
Annihilator is a little better than archmage for destruction staves too, in terms of a magic-score. But as you said, 'crit' is less consistent... This post has been edited by sssss2: Feb 1 2020, 18:04

Right, I think I added the CP value two times when I calculated by hand (I definitely should install HVUtils at work (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) ) And yeah, above average radiants are better, but they don't go for less than 40M (probably more, but I guess shoes are cheaper in general?) and require nearly 5M worth of additional materials (since you need to forge MDB) if you stop at forge level 50.
