I've been working on a wiki overhaul.

This is a request for feedback, especially from those who do not speak English as their native language, and anyone who feels the current wiki has parts which are too complicated. Not just about what I've done, but also about the wiki in general: what do you think should be changed to make it easier to use?

It is now live as the wiki main page but it is still a work in progress.

The work done so far:

• The front page layout change, intended to make it easier to categorise links at a glance, and to mitigate overwhelming new players by separating out more advanced advice. (Also, certain very useful pages weren't linked on the existing one - Level Scaling and Monster Stats, most importantly).
• Merged Spirit Stance and Overcharge pages into one new page (Spirit & Overcharge).
• Equipment page overhaul: hopefully, should be easier to consume the information parts now, with everything hoisted up above the tables and some rewriting.
• Detailed Equipment Characteristics: merged several old pages and clarified some ambiguity about terminology. All prefixes and suffixes now supplied with their distribution (apporximates taken from sssss2's overall data). This can be done for prefixes and suffixes because they seem to be the same at all levels of quality (assuming they roll a prefix/suffix, of course), but not for material types (eg plate vs power) because those rates vary depending on quality level.

Roadmap for the future:

• I intend to split up the Character Stats page into basic elements (ie, primary attributes) and the more complicated formula for derived stats, which will be supplied with all new discussion about how to use them. I need to clarify a few things with Tenboro.
• In particular, Shadow Veil is currently included in the Evade chance on the Character Stats page, but on the Damage page it says it adds to a monster's 'additional chance to miss' which isn't subject to anti-evade, and the way monster accuracy works is wholly ambiguous on this subject.
• For that matter, if they can get +100% accuracy from Chaos Upgrades, what's their base accuracy? If it was 100%, it would make their anti-evade obsolete!.
• Okay, rant over, sorry.
• Action Speed will probably be touched up and simplified with some basic English sections. I will be careful that no precision of information is lost.
• Equipment Ranges will have the Weapons tables split out into their own page, like the Armor Types have, and the discussion parts will explain how to manipulate the base values. Still thinking about whether to mention the way HV rounds numbers here, on Level Scaling, in the Forge Upgrades section, or in all of the above. (Another thing that should be clarified is whether rounding is used for display purposes only, and also whether every point of a calculation is rounded or whether it's only certain 'final result' numbers. More detail will be given on this if necessary.)
• Undecided on whether the Beginner & Advanced Advice pages need any work. Noni has kept them up to date, but my personal preference would be to simplify the Beginner section further (maybe split it into Character Management, and Combat). It's currently a really huge page and might be difficult to digest in one read. Advanced Advice seems to have a lot of overlap with the Beginner section, too, making a good amount of at least one of these pages redundant...
• Character stats are linked in 3 separate places (under Character, to be consistent with ingame navigation, under Equipment, and under Expert). The Equipment one will probably be replaced with a different link, to a simplified page that doesn't talk about formulas so much but contextualises the differences between equipment types instead.

Just had a look, it seems a nice piece of work.

However, the previous main page, under "Battle" had a "Days of the Week" sub-link that was imho very handy and useful.

It is nowhere in the new main page; maybe putting it back somewhere would be good ?

Readded under 'Battle' as 'Battle Basics'. I forgot about this one because all the other headings lead to generic pages that are either linked to directly under their subheadings (like Item Shop, etc, for Bazaar) or covered by other pages (Character Menu is essentially just a list of links to their specific pages, though I readded that one).

Cloudflare in Milan was also very sluggish in these last few days, with occasional timeouts on server reply.

Definitely NOT a DNS problem (I tried a few different ones, just to cover all angles, but I knew from the kind of net behaviour that it couldn't be a DNS issue).

Now is working (almost) fine again, with my usual not-really-good-but-acceptable turns' time.

Person'ly I suspect there must have been some heavy bots' usage curtailing the servers' capacity (I suspect database response time is the main problem there), that has been now killed off ... ? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Edit : ... anyway, CloudFlare is really a big heap of dung !
