Since until today I have not seen anyone comparing a full set of savage versus non-savage, I believe the difference is not "extraordinary" (like 4 or 5 minutes faster in DwD for example). I hope someone will take this test someday. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

But stopping to think, for Shade you have a point. As the ADB level is lower and the range is narrower, as well as the prices are generally lower, compared to Power, in this case it would be more worthwhile to invest in a good savage without spending a fortune.

For heavy armor I use roughly the same formula, a savage is equal to a non-savage +24% adb. Looking at a helmet it gives up to +3% crit damage which is a bit more than fatality 1. And butcher 1 on a rapier is about 12% adb. Which would be 24% adb on a helmet since it has half as much total adb. If you consider butcher and fatality comparable you get this relationship.

Translating that to prices, a heavy savage should be worth up to 2x ~ 4x an identical non-savage. However not everyone obeys this rule so sometimes savage prices go far higher than they are worth in terms of performance. From a rarity standpoint this may be partially justified.

Light armor is weighted differently so I instead hope to gather low adb savage of shadowdancer. I purchased one good adb savage of shadowdancer by luck so four pieces to go. I'm in no rush. Heavy is my priority but I want pieces with great or specific all-around stats which would be a better value if priced normally.

Unfortunately it takes a really, really long time for those to appear. To the point that peerless are more common, so I bid on those too sometimes. I'm willing to use pieces besides slaughter if the prefix/suffix are other good ones and the stats are there.

Japanese factor by groups of 4 digits instead of 3, when they spell numbers in words.
So 11m are 1100.0000, 110k are 110.000

too bad i cannot loan you my non-peerless savage shadowdancer set anymore. with 65/24/6/17/46% ADB it's still quite decent, and when heartseeker and/or spirit stance are enabled, it cuts through monsters like butter.

tbh, ADB range in shade armors is so narrow that:
1. forging it isn't worth it
2. investing in crit damage and/or chance is really a decent way to boost their potential.

maybe with peerless tier i could snatch other 100~150-ish ADB out of that (PABs included), but:
a. it's out of 9240 ADB. roughly 1.5%
b. peerless savage shadowdancer basically don't even exist. and even if they do, they are more in mantra's realm than in mine (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Pretty much.
In shade, savage is everything, and fleet/shadowdancer add even more to the table, compared to the ADB range.
So even a low ADB Savage Shadowdancer beats a high ADB plain Negation.


Slaughter for power is an exception, where yes, Savage Slaughter is the absolute best, but it matters less compared to tha actual Min-Max range.
And Savage non-Slaughter always loses to Slaughter, unless it's Peerless Savage non-Slaughter vs M-range ADB Non-Savage Slaughter.
Plain Peerless non Slaughter Power is quite bad, even compared to Savage non Peerless non Slaughter.
I would go for a 70% Savage Warding over a Peerless non-Savage Warding any day. Less expensive, and both are not endgame and will be replaced.

There is a reason why Slaughter is expensive even with low-ish ADB, where 95% Power of Protection can end in bazaar (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)


TL;DR Savage Power is overrated and Savage Shade is underrated, and it should be the opposite considering the Crit orientation of Shade (and the Crit boosts of the Fleet/Shadowdancer suffixes) and the ADB ranges of Power (and the ADB boost of the Slaughter suffix).

Only exception: Power of Balance. That HAS to be Savage, otherwise it's a waste and you just should go for Slaughter, or go defensive.

For some reason I recall less times I got scared in my last trip. I think they realized it scares the foreigners so these days they make sure the cash registers print out the numbers. I see no implication whatever. Numbers are numbers, they must simply be correct.

Choice and/or interpretation of numbers, now ... that's another thing, and can never be fully neutral.
