As I said on Discord about this: I agree that unspecified goods are exceptionally shady, but a possible solution includes informing a moderator of what the secret prize is if you want your thread stickied (and therefore endorsed). It can still be left up to the community to decide whether they want to gamble on it, but this way it can be controlled in a way that disallows an item switch if the seller feels it has gone too low.

It's not about sticky posts, it's about moderation in general. The problem is - even if mods somehow guarantee that unspecified goods worth enough it will eventually lead to displeasure since prices are volatile and item worth is subjective, so if you want to raffle or gift something there is no need to make buyers pay for it.

as a generic rule of thumb, auctioneer has full right to ban a certain person or group of persons to bid, like if it was a WTS.
worst case, a mod may come asking him what happened looking for infos that may be useful for other stuff. but we tend to stick our noses in auctions as little as possible.

it's not even free market anymore. it's market with some conditions, and not everyone may eat it as positively as mouiisac or ubershank. risk here is mostly on your side, who are a new auctioneer trying to taste the ground.

The chances of finding a low level one are pretty poor. The suffixes are not equal rarity and despite being less desirable, that will be a much harder weapon to find than the one people want.

On the other hand, if one has been dropped before there is at least some chance they didn't soulfuse it, so if you search all old weapons you may be able to find one, who knows?
