but really, i know melees get the most damage from magical attacks, especially holy damage, but is it such a big amount to want the mitigations? you play even without spark, i picture high end melee players as a wall of bricks
now that i'm writing this, then shouldn't you had wanted to go for warding pieces instead of protections? or is there something i ain't seeing?
I am a wall of bricks that still gets sparked sometimes during PFFEST.
The issue with mitigating magical attacks, is that chosing to mitigate them better is done at the cost of not mitigating the wimpy physical attacks just as well.
If you don't mitigate magical attacks enough, your spirit shield takes a slap in the face and SoL triggers often.
If you don't mitigate physical attacks enough, your HP will be chipped away and you'll need to heal often.
I've tried both the 4P+1W and 3P+2W setups. Altough they're both viable, you'll certainly feel the difference: the 3+2 is safer regarding magical attacks, but you'll need to heal regularly. The 4+1 needs you to heal less often, but spirit draughts are needed to keep up as the spirit shield is almost alone to protect you from the magical attacks.
So overall, the suffixes alone actually aren't enough to protect a player decently. Having elemental prefixes helps a bit, especially when they're high enough. Ask the Celestials what they think about my 69.4% mitigation against holy.
