QUOTE(KamuiSeph @ Apr 8 2019, 09:49) Unfortunately right now there's no good standard bounties ._. Out of the top 10: 1. Waaay too few credits. Considering shipping/payment option costs and scanning costs 220mil is like the cheapest I would start that bounty at. 2. Same as 1. Too many pages too many books ~200mil minimum 3. Unavailable for purchase anywhere you look (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) 4. Don't even understand what the heck this guy wants (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) 5. Same as 3. 6. Same as 3. 7. Same as 3. 8. Same as 3. 9. Too low of a profit margin. Too many pages, book only available new not used. Should be ~45mil minimum. 10. Same as 3. 220m?! was wondering if 2m would be enough for this [ www.melonbooks.co.jp] little saya doujin, guess not

QUOTE(qr12345 @ Apr 9 2019, 00:01) I have tried these. Trying to cheap out spirit elixirs at 40~50% SP level -> taking skill criticals -> SP drained by SS -> not enough SP for SoL -> death Hit to exact Hp1 -> SoL not triggering -> death
Yeah, I sometimes try and cheap out on SP elixirs too, but monsterbation stops if you don't have enough SS for SoL though? The "die at 1hp" is something I have yet to experience, but I'm sure it'll come (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE(yami_zetsu @ Apr 9 2019, 00:07) 220m?! was wondering if 2m would be enough for this [ www.melonbooks.co.jp] little saya doujin, guess not It depends, really. Based on my bounty completions so far, I go for somewhere ~16,000-18,000 credits per 1 yen paid. Now, you might think "welp, doujin is ¥771 that's 12mil minimum!" Well, no... Shipping costs are a thing (usually ~¥500) so it's definitely best to order multiple things at once. Payment costs are a thing (most places just do straight CoD ~¥350) And scanning costs as well. I personally don't own a scanner so it's ¥30 per page for really high quallity (6,000px x 5,000px) And, of course, the amount of time you put into ordering, scanning, editing, etc. So for your doujin, if I were to buy just that doujin would be ~¥2,251 total. Or ~36mil minimum. If I buy it with other stuff (and spread the other costs around) ~¥1,500 total. Or ~24mil minimum. Another way you can think about it is, a Gold Star costs ~¥11,000. at ~60mil for a gold star that's ~5,500C per ¥. So if your doujin by itself is less than 12,4m why would I bother with orders, shipping, scanning, if I can just buy some bitcoin? That all being said! If someone already has said doujin, or finds it in a used book store (~200-500¥ usually) And has their own scanner! I can see ~4-5m being worth. If someone already has said doujin in a digital format, shit, even 1m would be worth it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) So depends on how fast you want it really. P.S. just so people don't lose their minds: QUOTE(yami_zetsu @ Apr 9 2019, 00:07) 220m?!
This is what the #1 bounty costs straight up to order: [attachmentid=129510] The total thing is 236 pages long. That's 7k for me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) and at LEAST 2 hours of scanning This post has been edited by KamuiSeph: Apr 8 2019, 17:50

QUOTE(KamuiSeph @ Apr 8 2019, 17:08) and at LEAST 2 hours of scanning
So 2 hours of your life cost more credits as i can get in two months? Yeah, seems legit. I know why i am never even close to this part of the forum. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) Dude, that's 30 yen per page and yes, forgive me for wanting to be paid for my work? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I mean, I can go do some freelance teaching for 2 hours and make enough money for a gold star. Or I can scan some doujins and get even less credits for my time? I think I'm being pretty damn reasonable (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE(decondelite @ Apr 9 2019, 02:38) I already imagined the costs of finding+buying the said doujin, but I don't understand why the costs of both shipping and scanning.
Finding is not an issue, as long as the bounty poster is not mentally challenged and supplied a link to buy the doujin. Shipping costs because.... Japan. Unless you've got amazon prime and buying doujins off amazon, everything has shipping costs. Cause... It costs money to ship? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Scanning is something a lot of people are not even considering. Even if you own a scanner, it takes a while to scan a full doujin. That's not something you do just for fun. (IMG:[ i.imgflip.com] https://i.imgflip.com/1mw06n.jpg) I'm sure there's plenty of people that don't value their time/value their time quite low. And they are happy to do low income bounties, but personally 16k per yen spent is my minimum, otherwise it's more profitable for me to just go do some part time work and sell stars (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Do you get paid for your time, or per pages? Because from this sentence i would think it is the second, but then it would make no sense even to mention those two hours when they have nothing to do with it. are you debating that time and effort are not both useful metrics to measure income against?

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) No no, 30 yen is what I PAY the scanner machine at the local convenience store. So for a 236 page doujin that's 7k yen I am dumping into a machine. (at that point probably better to buy a scanner for like 10k~). And the 2 hours I mention is because there's 3 different things that go into the profitability of a bounty: 1. Cost of doujin 2. Cost of shipping/handling/scanning 3. Time investment All 3 are important. You wouldn't buy a doujin for 5,000 yen that gives you 1m credits, cause that's just absurd. As absurd as buying a doujin that has like 5,000 yen in shipping/handling/scanning costs that gives you 1m credits. And just as absurd would be buying a cheap doujin that has no shipping/handling costs when you own your own scanner......... That has 5,000 pages that you need to scan for like a week straight.... To get 1m credits. See what I'm saying? This post has been edited by KamuiSeph: Apr 8 2019, 20:14

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) It's an unpleasantly high cost, yeah, but he's just breaking even on what he has to pay in real money to make it happen, compared to just selling a gold star. But that's more a reality of the way HV economy works, I guess. You either get very lucky drops, or slow income, and the rest of the economic movement is related to out-of-game things like hath trading or gold star selling. I guess there's also people with very large amounts of very very heavily invested monsters, but that's an extremely long-term goal for someone who plays primarily (or solely) f2p.

Yeah, just like any other investment/business/work related thing. If you buy a scanner specifically to scan doujins, you bet your ass the cost of said scanner has to be paid for by the credits I earn. Otherwise why buy it in the first place? Same with time invested translating a doujin. You would pay 100$ to a freelance translator to work on your doujin, but expect to only pay ~10$ worth of credits on a bounty? OK... Good luck with that. I think someone who's like 16 or 17 and doesn't really have a monetary value attached to their time, or has no disposable income... That's a person that would go for a low-credit bounty. But once you know how much you can earn by working and you see how much you would get for your time invested, you can't help but compare. And when that comparison is 100$ vs 10$, why on earth would you NOT pick the 100?

I have not really an idea how some people actually get the money for some of those bounties together and i like to think of me as part of the richest 20% around here. And yes, i see it now.

Well, I think people like atomicpupper, for example, don't really participate in auctions or buy HV related stuff at all. Can't remember the last time I saw any of the top bounty contributors in a single Super/Kedama auction (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I might be completely wrong though, who knows. But, if you don't spend the credits/hath/gp you get from uploading/torrents/H@H/etc on gear, what DO you spend them on? Bounties.

I prefer not to think about the massive amounts that uploaders and various toppers get from selling GPs. Because this is where they really get that many credits from.
... And then you have weirdos like RoadShoe who simply sell industrial amounts of hath.
... And then you have stoopids like me who do neither and pray snowflake that they stop dropping shit and finally sell something worthwhile.

To be fair, the biggest issue the mega-rich cause is that desirable equipment can run up prices that are completely unrealistic for anyone playing entirely on HV income. And that's kind of not a terrible thing! I know you of all people will be the first to say that it doesn't have to be super expensive to get into the endgame, it's just optimisation after that point. Best thing that could be done right now to combat that imo is to put more valuable items into circulation - the more things poorer players can trade off to richer players, the better. Fewer people buying EDs these days is starting to cause a serious drop in income for the poor. I think almost all my credits now come from actual drops, and occasional auctions.

I don't think it's necessarily bad that all the super duper gear is out of reach for most players (myself included). There would be no point in anything, really, if we all have peerless sets. What do you farm for then? Full peerless, full trainings, lvl 500..... No point in HV anymore, really. It's like going into a game with godmode. It's fun for a while but boring AF afterwards. I bet that Uncle here plays more than any person in the 19% above Uncle (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
