I bought my Peerless Shocking Shortsword of Slaughter for only 700k. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

I think only Hallowed and Demonic is that they can be sold for a slightly higher value, but far from the value of an Ethereal ("prefix overprice" (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) ).

But the saddest thing in the end is that this will be just another good piece of equipment that will rustle in a mage's inventory. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I think adept learner actually would be considerably more efficient from a proficiency perspective at higher levels, as the dawn exp will start to account for a larger portion of overall exp, with lower proficiency/exp compared to battle exp, so having adept learner will increase the portion of battle exp which in turn will help proficiency. (I think)

The goal here is not to get higher raw proficiency, but higher proficiency factors (prof level/player level). Higher proficiency factors makes one have higher stats for the same player level, thus the game slightly easier, mostly thanks to abilities.
Keep in mind that there do are players who can't afford leveling up too fast, mostly because of the equipment upgrade costs that are needed to compensate the higher monster levels. And that's my case.

That's a sensible way to look at it. Me, I rushed to lv 500. And by then, the exp bonus became really, really helpful. Because now level is capped, and prof is still growing. So I need all the exp I can get. If you look at it that way, rushing to 500 is also sensible because it works as well. What did I lose by rushing? Mayby acouple of legendaries that didn't sell as well as they would at lower level? Meh. Real good gear sells anyway. And what did I gain? Awesomeness! (but I admit, that's rather subjective)

I agree, but what I meant was that since the dawn event gives exp without the equivalent proficiency (compared to battles) and adept learner increases battle exp (along with proficiencies) but does not affect dawn of a new day, adept learner actually will improve proficiency factor as well.

Well, if you do can go to level 500, yes that's a thing to do. At some point I will do that myself too.
Where I am right now, it's not a matter of equipments drops anymore: the majority that is meh at Lvl500 is also meh at Lvl420. I'm already at the point where every Magnificent is only worth bazaar/HGC, low ADB Legendary Power is bazaar aswell, and all those fancy things.

It's really all about being unable to acquire the goods that I'd need to proceed to higher levels. Heck even with 97 monsters the amount of rares+bindings I get is a joke, and none of them is strong enough to bring in a decent amount of High-Grade.

So I had my first go at the imperil dark mage and I must say I'm quite satisfied (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It's got 10% lower magic/arcane score than my elec set and still managed to cut down on the DwD turn by 200 (2450->2250). On normal arenas not much difference I guess.

Its proficiency is crap so I guess the dark day effect was quite significant, but once I get my equipments more optimized (4+1 robe prof, 5 phase for SG arenas, soulfuse everything) it'd be much better (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Another thing is, I think I can finally try IW/Grindfest since I've got a willow p5s4 and charged equipments now (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Hence, I'd really appreciate your tips on which scrolls to use when for IW and GF. I might try out IWBFEST first to see how it rolls before going for PFFEST. I guess I could just salvage my elec set now :3
